This would be good to see....Hoppa trying to Ko Hall in the first 3 rounds...maybe he would come close..maybe not....if it goes longer he would become tired if he was unable to KO Hall....Hall would pick Hoppa off in the next 4 rounds before a stoppage win to Hall...I don't think this fight will go on because Hall needs some warn ups before he tekes on Hoppa or anybody of substance in his first fight..

Yeah I think Hoppa will win if Baz doesn't have a few warm up fights first, but thats if it happens....
and for fuck sake why are all these boxing promoters throwing so much money at footballers???
Since when did being a good footy player mean your gonna make it in the fight game??? i havent watched an AFL game for a while but last time i did there arent a whole lot of things that can be learnt from afl that will help u in da ring

Hall by late KO. Hoppa will burn himself out early doing his waterless freestyle swimming stroke routine. LOL

Actually you are quite right. The only thing close to fighting you will pick up in AFL is pushing and shoving, chest bumping, and jersey grabbing and headlocks.
I do think Hall would be safe to get a warm up fight.:bbb

Please for the sake, and credibility of Australian boxing, please do not let this fight happen, its going to make australian boxing more of a laughing stock than it is at the moment, well thats the way it's heading anyway, by the recent fights we've seen, and the people turning to it. If barry hall fights Hoppa, its going to be similar to the fight Matt Seers and the other fellow who KO'ed Andrew Johns had on the Footy Show last Thursday. We need to nurture boxers at a young age into the sport,we don't need any sidekicks in it..

hoppa will ko the bum in under a round. theres so many reasons why... i just couldnt be bothered to list them.
ok well please name 3 - i am curious to hear the reasons. Barry Hall would have naturally better footwork, speed and agility oh yeah and stamina. What has hoppa got beside a huge looping left hook that is as slow as a wet week?

there is a state of origin boxing promotion this friday in brisbane. masalino masoe is fighting the main bout.
have a look how unskilled fighters fight.....and look at the main support fighter alex luapi (?) spelling). alex spars with hoppa. look at the difference between athletes whom train for different sports. sure hall may be ok after 18 months and heaps of sparring, and a few fights. but in a walk up start, against an established athlete that has already put the time in, hall is gonna get hammered. his ability and toughness at this stage may well get him a bigger hiding, as hell be there longer getting hit.
chuck him in anyway. AFL is for girls...
you wanker, are you to fat to run or jump :fire

afl and rugby players would weigh in at heavyweight. they are big, tough, athletic, and have a pretty good attitude to training. so as athletes they are already proven. if they ALL were to box as well, australia would produce a world heavyweight champ pretty quickly. IMO.
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
good one, LMFAO

Did any of you boys know that Barry Hall has former boxing experience. I read it somewhere, he grew up in a boxing family and I think he was an amatuer fighter. He also has a pair of boxing gloves tatooed on him somewhere. He wouldn't be a fish out of water if thrown in the ring.

I think there are a lot of world heavyweight champions in Australia already, the trouble is they haven't taken up the sport yet:D

haha you may scoff marcus but i tend to agree..
lets just think about NRL alone for a minute.. there'd probably be 400 NRL level players in australia.. that's alot of guys who are all great athletes, strong, coordinated and good trainers.
alot of people say that the reason the african americans are dominating hte heavyweight division anymore is because it makes sense for big strong athletic kids to play gridiron.. the same could be applied to australia really..
for example when scott prince was boxing as part of his rehabilitation when he broke his leg the guy training him (forget who, might have been billy johnston) said that he had more potential than mundine.
Sure mate, you could make the point we have 10000 good strong athletes, thats doesnt mean they can box or are willing to risk brain damage. Boxing is a tough sport.
But look at the heavies from USA atm, they are lacking....big time....and the reasons the experts say its like that because they are nfl type guys who think that they can change over to boxing at say around 25 or later. And mate it just doesnt work, soon they get outboxed or worse badly KOed.
And to say Prince has/had more potential than Mundine is pretty silly, now im not saying you said it, but mate its a dumb wishfull thinking statement.

I think a big factor in the reason the Americans have always seemed to have a pretty solid boxing crew is coz of the American population....
Lets just say for example that 1% of people in both Australia and Amercia take up boxing... then Americas 1% would have alot more people in it then Australia's 1%....
So basically i think its just that theres so many more people in the sport over there that theres a bigger chance of finding that champ

Hall grew up boxing and knows how to handle himself. If he can get past thirty seconds of windmilling he will brutalise Hoppa.
