View Full Version : Ouma-Mora will be surprisingly exciting...

I think that Mora and Ouma are going to trade a TON of leather in this bout. Ultimately, I feel that Ouma will apply to much pressure, but Mora has shown that he can throw a lot of punches when the opportunity presents itself in a few of his past bouts.
I think it will be a surprising slugfest, neither guy able to take the other guy out with one punch. A nice, classic war of attrition.

ESPN is trying to put it on the same card as Gomez-Tackie in October.

Is this fight still coming off despite the JMM - Juarez postponement?
Shit, I forgot it was even part of that card. I figured it would be a friday night fights affair.
Dammit. I was looking for this fight to hold me over for a little bit. My anticipation for all of the huge bouts coming up is coming to a boil.

Really? Now that would be a great card. Hope it happens... by the way even though I don't much like Mosley, I have to admit I like you avatar.;)
Thanks...but how can you not like Mosley???
By the way October 6th is the date for Gomez-Tackie, so we'll see if its enough time to put it all together.

Actually, Guru? I agree with you're opinion on this fight. It should be exciting.
Thing is? Neither is among the elite, but the winner may eventually get a shot at proving that wrong.
I really hope this fight comes together. Its a real interesting match up.

This is the perfect opportunity for Mora, which is why I think he'll be so amped for this bout, and go out on his shield if he has to.
If he can beat Ouma in a more convincing fashion than Taylor did, then all his clamoring for a title shot would be justified in a strange way.

1 thing is for sure and that's Ouma will throw a lot of punches. I hope Mora does too.

And whenever given the opportunity in his bouts, Sergio does to. I don't recall Sergio ever being rocked, and Ouma isn't a one punch fighter. Both have a shitload on the line.
This one has every element of being a great fight.

He was dropped in the early stages of a fight a couple years ago

I love when I throw something out there I'm unsure about and find out the real deal. Thanks Dawg.
How do you see this one playing out? Think Ouma starches him late?

I think it will be exciting whenever it happens. Both guys throw a lot of punches and have crowd pleasing styles. Neither are big punchers, but that's okay. I like Ouma by decision.

I don't know man. Ouma is definitely there to be hit and one thing Mora CAN do is throw some sharp, quick punches. I really don't think Mora will stop him, but I can see him outboxing him a bit early on. From what I saw of Mora in the Manfredo fights and 1 fight after that, he seems to have a tendancy to get a bit lazy and sit back too much at times. This MIGHT be due to stamina issues. If he sits back with Ouma and just tries to flurry on him in quick bursts, it might be a mistake because Ouma isn't one to get discouraged and will keep coming all round and quick bursts won't be enough to win the rounds against a constant pressure fighter.....especially since Mora's defense isn't that great, so he will be getting hit as well.
I say Ouma outlasts him. Mora takes the fight to him early on but fades and Ouma wins a SD by taking the championship rounds from him. I agree with you though, this could definitely be a good fight. I never....never thought I'd be looking forward to a Sergio Mora fight, but I really am :good

Thats EXACTLY how I see it going. Even Vegas sees this one even. I might even put a few bucks down on a draw. I can see Mora "snaking" 5 rounds from Ouma, with Ouma taking a majority down the stretch.
And yes, I definitely did not think that I would ever look forward to a Mora fight, but this one is gonna be fun.

I agree this is an exciting match up and I am glad it got postponed and not scrapped.
Both guys are bit lacking in power so there will be a lot of punches thrown, I was looking forward to this fight.
I think Mora will edge a split decision, the fight is a 10 rounder (I think) so the chances of Mora winning are a bit higher. I just wonder why people are so quick to brush off Mora, I really think he is a legit contender at middleweight.

I can't see Mora doing much here. He's had success against limited fighters who don't throw punches in bunches, but Ouma's output will just be too high for him to handle. Mora can probably keep up for a few rounds, but unless he's working out harder for this fight than he's ever worked before, his stamina just isn't up to snuff against a guy who can throw 850 punches over the course of 10 rounds.
Ouma will beat the Latin Fake.

I think Ouma will beat Mora in UD, and out puch mora and then maybe mora will become tired and play defense a lot more.

Ouma will probably win.
Shit, even Margarito was getting the best of him during a sparring session that can be seen on youtube.
