Librado Andrade said his amature career was embarrising he won 3 out of 15 amature fights, when he told people he was turning pro they laughed at him, he sure proved them wrong

My younger brother is thinking about turning pro he is 22 and had 10 fights he trains hard, he doesnt really follow boxing, so thats why am asking

Yeah i heard the rock only had 2 amature fights, the guy went on to become the number 1 heavyweight in the world

Hopkins had a lot of amateur fights as a kid, before he got locked up.
I don't know if he had any after though.

Hasim had some good skills, especially considering his late start. He's under rated as a boxer and over rated as a puncher in my opinion.
Valuev had 23 amateur fights

Tim Witherspoon and Pinklon Thomas both had very few amateur fights.
I think Witherspoon had 6 and Thomas had 3.

Ken Norton started fighting very late, in 1963, when he was 20, and became a professional at 24, in 1967
Between 1963 and 1967 fought 26 times as an amateur, with a 24-2 record

Ok, if people are including people who fought as many as 25 fights then throw in George Foreman who won the Oympics with 26 !
That's quite a lot of fights though.

hagler had quite a few actually, found out he had a decent amateur record in the book four kings

Ron lyle had about for amature fights when he boxed for the usa he became the first man to knock a russian heavyweight out
think he turned pro at about 14 so didnt have alot and anyway where he was from there wasnt so much amatuer fights as just boxing matches
