As I said last night, very sloppily fought by both ladies. Missed opportunities abound. They were just in full steam ahead mode (at least Cyborg) there was no strategy involved . . . and little technique.

Gina's defnitely not a grappler. She kept going for headlocks and that's the first thing you learn NOT TO DO in jiujitsu. Headlocking an opponent is like asking them to take you down to the mat. I couldn't believe she kept doing that.

Cyborg let Gina off so many times I was actually thinking that the fight was fixed. When Gina stood up from a full mount, I was like, ''WTF, did she actually just do that''? Carano was overmatched in a big way. If they rematched, Cyborg would be more calm and confident. It would be over even quicker. The funniest part for me was how down the commentators seemed to be after Carrano lost.

I don't understand how Cyborg didn't take advantage all the time though, it was blatantly obvious, Gina's balance up close was terrible. All Cyborg had to do was slide her foot across, position it behind Gina's and twist her body and it is pretty much inevitable that she would end up in top mount.

Yup! Gina was a bit shook. She didn't fight with confidence which makes her a top Female MMA fighter. She could have done 10 times better if she was mentally prepared but you can't fight a fighter like Cyborg being scared.

Good point there. But I do feel Carano hurt/stunned Cyborg a few times with her punches. Personally after watching the match I became a bigger fan of Carano. She has nothing to feel ashamed about and I hope Randy tells her that. Obviously she needs to take the sport more seriously on her cardio work. Cyborg was just to physically strong. Does anyone know her weight on fight night? I doubt Carano hydrated much.


No offence to the Williams sister buecause i'd bone serena if the opportunity came along...but I do feel womens physical MMA evolution will go the way of Tennis.

In the sense that when the Williams sisters first came into the game they were steam rolling everybody because they were physically stronger and quicker mainly due to frame and dad's training.
So basically to beat Cyborg the Women are gonna have to do her type of training and show her dedication. Or take her to the ground and submit her. But she's so powerful down there as well. Carano I thought was good on the ground but still got overpowered.
If carano didnt gas out (mainly due to Cyborg leaning on her) I think she could of won. She looked the better on the ground.

Im not taking anything away from Cyborg but i;ve seen her train and she's a friggin animal with the type of exercise she does. It explain's her stature and she is very broad. Some women are just built like that Muearesmo, Williams, Sharapova (look at her shoulders there huge!!!)...I could name more.

I wasn't a fan of womens MMA but after that fight i'm now.
