Fair play if they've got Audley, Williams & Sprott.

Last chance saloon

this will be the best one yet if they get audley, sprott, williams, greenberg. i might have to give harrison the edge although sprott may have something to say about that.

good stuff!

robpalmer135
08-17-2009, 05:58 AM
they must have bumped up the prize money.

anjawnaymiz
08-17-2009, 06:02 AM
must have.
i'd forgotten about greenberg, just seen he'd got sparked by some yank awhile back?

will be very interesting if harrison and sprott meet again.

glad to see him in, but can't understand it

thats why I think the cash has gone up.

steveng
08-17-2009, 06:54 AM
if the remaining places go to say, Fury, Chisora and Skelton could the event be sanctioned for Williams title?

winner takes the cash and british title?

'Ben'
08-17-2009, 07:17 AM
This just shows how popular prizefighter is getting.... remember the first one? nobody even knew who they were? Can't wait for this now! and I don't even really like heavyweight boxing! imagine if this tourament became a platform for up and coming propects to get through?

robpalmer135

This is the type of lineup you would like...... this must be more than a simple £25k prize for the winner..... was going to say a British title shot, but Williams is in.

steveng
08-17-2009, 07:27 AM
thats why i asked if it could be possible that the belt is thrown in the mix for the winner?

'Ben'
08-17-2009, 07:28 AM
If this is true this is big stuff! really good for the sport I hope.

Be interesting to hear from Fury if he is not in it, after all he has said.

steveng
08-17-2009, 07:42 AM
i can't see Fury in it at this stage of his career.

the fighters in it are either coming back from bad losses or coming to the end of their careers, maybe looking for a last big pay day

Not over 3 round fights.

08-17-2009, 07:45 AM
I wondeer if Fury would actually be interested in taking part on this, the attitude he gives certainly gives the impression he would.... but more importantly would Hennessy be interested in risking his biggest prorpect in such an unpredictable event?

just a thought

08-17-2009, 07:58 AM
I can't see Audley's ultra-cautious style working well over three rounds can you?

Mind you, I did hear rumours he was responsible for destroying the twin towers.

Both of 'em went down in one punch.

He might get more out of this than 5 or 6 6-8 rounders against no hopers. Standing toe to toe wioth Williams, Sprott, Skelton and Harrison for 3 rounds might do him the world of good.

robpalmer135
08-17-2009, 08:03 AM
if williams was to loose in prizefighter i am pretty sure he would be stripped of his title and then winner would face rogan vs sexton winner for the vacant title.

I agree.... but from a promoters point of view it's very risky, no?

robpalmer135
08-17-2009, 08:05 AM
Sexton, Snowinski, Fury, Sexton and Rogan are all busy. Chisora would be off his ban by then but doubt he would fight.

that would be sick. i'd pay to see that line up for sure. I'd love to see a shoot out between them. They should put a $100k up. Also, the format brings good publicity for the winner.

Yeah he did shit in the Olympics. I doubt he'll be suited to this distance.

Who was it who posted on here a while back the opinion that over 3 rounds and with a headgurad Audley's probably the best heavyweight in the UK?

There could be a grain of truth in that. Many of his problems, IMHO, stem from the fact he doesn't believe himself that he can do 12 hard rounds.

anjawnaymiz
08-17-2009, 08:57 AM
if the audley that squashed williams in 3 rounds turns up then there all in for a tough night.

I think Harrison can win it if he trains properly, with a proper trainer. I'd fucking love to coach him for this- its so winnable its untrue. Harrison if your reading and Freddie Roach or George Benton are busy, get your ass up to blackpool. Lets get on the sand-dunes pal :-)

I've always liked Audley and have stuck up for him plenty of times (in a realistic way mind, I'm not deluded). I think his main problem is his lack of confidence and belief after he's had one or two set backs. I know from listening to him you'd think he was supremely confident, but talk and bravado is cheap.
He has the physical ability to beat any of the British guys quite handily, just got to find his bollocks and go for it. The Prizefighter platform is somewhere where he can really shine and I'd really like to see him do it, if only to stick two fingers up to all those who constantly take the piss yet have never set foot in a ring themselves.

I'll be there Wednesday! :good Really looking forward to it. You there?

Holy crap. What a line-up!! I didn't believe you at first Jeff!

Here's a link to those still skeptical! [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Personally, I can't believe people are giving Sprott any kind of chance. His last two fights were appalling. Danny is involved purely to try get revenge on Audley but I have to say if Audley's on his game, he'll win. Presuming Rogan wins the Sexton return, then Audley could rematch Rogan for the Commonwealth title!!

Come on A-Force.

so many possible re-matches. would be a total let down if we dont see one of williams/sprott vs harrison re-match.

I am fancying Sprott for this. he is always in shamp and has the heart.

If you look at danny, he has not won the first 3 rounds of a fight for a long time.

hilarious we been watchign the heavyweight merrygo round for years...now they all in one tourney...get julius francis, pele reid, matt skelton, mcdermott in :P

anyways good stuff. this prizefighter thing is really pulling round.
3 rounds doesnt mean anything but winning a tourny against that level of class solidifies somthing.
