I was reading this weeks Boxing News and was saddened to read an article saying that Howard Clarke is seriously ill.

Howard Clarke is seriously ill with a form of Dementia. His speech and vision are impaired and he can never work again.

Ex-Pro Pete Jackson is organising a benefit night for Howard. It is being held on october 16th at 163 Bank Street Brierley Hill Dudley. Tickets are £20 per person for a three course meal Bollywood dancers raffle and Disco. All profits will go to Howard and his family so we encourage as many as possible to turn out. Jackson can be reached on 07980159013.Such a sad story. I remember Howard causing some guys huge trouble and beating many prospects. A great servant to the domestic game and one of the journeyman boxing needs in Britain...He showed many fighters the ropes on there way up the ranks. He would always give the prospects a good fight and also had a world title fight with Fernando Vargas which ended in defeat.

I hope he can pull through and this benefit night goes well for him...he deserves a big turn out. :bbb

Ah shame... good fighter Clarke. Did himself proud against Farnell, Samuals and Vargas.

I read this in the Boxing News and was shocked, I had no idea. I hope it is a great night and they raise plenty for Howard. As Mandanda has said, he was a great servant to the sport and I would like to see boxing give a little back to him.
