Define most dominant?

GSP or Anderson probably though. Although BJ did a job on Florian.

The one who has just destroyed all his challengers. For me it's gotta be anderson silva.

Anderson Silva. I would say GSP if it wasn't for the Serra loss. Regardless of whether it was a fluke or GSP was not there mentally a loss is a loss.

Machida just became champion, and hasn't yet defended. Why is he even in this poll?

just cuz his a champ. i know he has a tough fight against shogun next but from what i've seen from machida he could dominate his division better than silva dominating 185. So far i haven't seen anybody give machida that much trouble. Ortiz got him in a triangle but he got out of it pretty quick.

That's cool, but you didn't ask who was a dominating fighter; you asked who was a dominating champion. Machida's only a rookie beltholder right now. :good Arguably Brock doesn't really belong up there either (yet), even though he avenged his only loss in his first defense.

Shit I voted GSP but I think Silva deserves the nod.

yea i voted for silva also but i could understand if you pick gsp cuz he has been dominant lately. Hughes-Serra-Fitch-Penn-Alves all got dominated.

Silva has had it the longest and never lost it.

Although BJ has been the best lightweight in the world for a longer time.

yea true since ufc didn't have a lightweight champ for a while, bj couldn't fight for the title. He probably could have been the longest champ if they kept the lightweight title.

I guess since the question is Champion it has to be Anderson Silva. BJs a dominant Champion at 155 but it took him a 3rd try at that belt to win it, I know the 2nd Uno and 1st Pulver fight where years ago but they both still happened. Lesnar only has won defense in the weakest divison, Machida is the most dominant fighter IMO but no title defenses, GSP if it wasnt for the Serra loss would have this but he still lost that title before. Now where with Silva his track record as Champ is flawless he takes on the current dominant Champ Rich Franklin and rapes him and to prove it was no fluke he did it agian and to be honest he KOed him twice in the rematch as Rich was out at the end of 1. He made Nate Marquardt arguablly the 2nd best Middleweight out there right now look like a complete joke. Runs threw Hendo to unify the belts, who has rocked Hendo and submitted him like that ? Silva had Hendo more hurt then anyone ive ever seen.

1. Anderson
2. GSP
3. BJ

Too early to include Brock and Lyoto

I say GSP because there is pretty much no one at 155 or 170 to fight. He's beaten the 2 top lightweight champs of his era and he's beaten the best 170 champ of his era. Coupled with dominating every top contender available.

Looks like most have said Silva.

I agree. Silva still has some fights at middleweight I think could be competitive such as a rematch with Henderson and a fight with the Maia/Marquart winner.

GSP on the other hand has cleared out welterweight and smashed the dominant 155 champ as well.

So even though Anderson might be the better pound for pound fighter (a debate in itself) I think GSP is the more dominant at the moment.

Penn, GSP & Silva are all equally dominant in their respective classes, I voted Penn because I like him best, there is no wrong answer choosing any of those 3.

I have to go Silva simply based on title defences. GSP will probably catch up and surpass him in this respect though seeing as Silva wants to retire when his contract is up.

It's pretty close between Silva and GSP, but Silva has been unstoppable in the UFC so I'm going to give him the nod in this one.

Right now ya gotta go with Silva, I think.

GSP looks as good as anyone right now..... but Silva hasn't even come remotely close to being threatened since he destroyed a very good fighter in Rich Franklin.

G.S.P. for me, dominates his division in the same fashion as Anderson, but has had to face slightly stronger competition imo

Well, GSP lost to Serra yes, but GSP's competition he dominated is much better in my opinion than the Leites of this world. But that's my opinion and I understand Silva trashed everyone in MW's division but I just feel that WW is more stacked and more talented.

yea i do think 170 is more talented also than 185. If it wasn't for that loss to serra, i think gsp would be considered the most dominant champion right now.

true that is why majority of the fans here says silva is the most dominant champ. Even at 205 he has look very good against irvin and griffin. I hope he does fight couple of more times at 205. I would love to see silva vs rampage at 205.

GSP will actually fight so he'll be open to a loss like Serra but on the flip side he also has more dominating victories. If Silva engaged as much as GSP did then he might have a Serra type loss.

Silva can also bring the fight. His fight with cote was disappointing cuz of the injury but silva had cote in trouble in the 2nd round but he ran out of time. The leites fight was boring but mainly because leites didn't come to fight. He wanted a grappling match. Every time silva lands some punches, leites decides to fall down and make it a bjj match.

Other than those 2 fights, silva's fights has been exciting. Franklin-leben-henderson-irvin-griffin etc. Even the lutter fight was pretty good.

As of right now it's Anderson Silva by a rather large margin.

He got mounted by Luter and controlled by Hendo in the first round, he came back and won but he was certainly being "threatened" in those fights.

By nature Silva isn't a fighter whereas I GSP is. Silva has, can and will fight but not like GSP. If GSP fought safe I think he could have avoided the Serra fight but that isn't him.

I think GSP has cleared out 155 and 170 and that is what tips it for me but I understand the Silva choice.

GSP has only had 3 successful title defenses out of 4 total defenses. Those coming against Fitch, Penn, and Alves... and being knocked out by Serra.

Anderson Silva has had 10 straight wins in the UFC, 6 successful title defenses against Lutter (although Lutter didn't make weight so officially wasn't a title defense), Marquardt, Franklin, Henderson, Cote, and Leites. He has also moved up to 205 to brutally knock out Irvin, and Griffin.

The answer is Anderson Silva by far. Especially considering that GSP was knocked out by the TUF winner in his very first title defense.

GSP is great though... and is a very dominant fighter. One of the best Pd 4 Pd in the world.

true.. i think that is why many picked silva as the most dominant champ. He has look good since he came to the ufc. The guy is undefeated and i don't think anybody at 185 right now can beat him. we'll see how vitor belfort look against franklin next. If vitor can look good then he can get a title shot soon.
