What a joke, that pillock Kellerman, Steward & Lederman were giving the most biased commentary i've seen i along while (well since the last Ottke fight), they were saying RH was initiating 90% of the clinches, virtually writing off the achievement as a nothing, as JLC was shot (did we call this before the fight or what). No matter what Ricky does in America, it is gonna be written off

Some Americans just can't give a (white especially) British fighter credit. Americans don't seem to rate fighters unless they're hispanic or a black guy from the ghetto. The racial politics of boxing over there seems to be rather intense, whilst most British fans support boxers of every creed and colour as long as they're British (apart from Dunky, he'll support any Scots fighter)!

Fuck em all. He put away a Mexican with a left hook to the body.
He's beaten a great 140 pounder and now a great 135 pounder.
I gave Ricky the first 2, got worried in the third, Castillo was pulling it back, Hatton got angry and put the cunt away!
There's only one Ricky Fatton.

You have to believe me, they can only get credit by signing with American promoters.

Exactly the key point here, is he aint American (or hispanic american), so that instantly goes against him. Even the referee was a joke constantly blaming Hatton for the holding

Listening to all the haters actually makes it even more sweet. It's blatantly obvious that no matter what a UK fighter does it's going to get picked apart, so just enjoy how frustrating it must be for said haters to continually hate. It takes a whole lot of energy to hate quite as much as they do.
In the end any UK fighter is going to be labelled a slapper, a clincher, or far too negative.

I thought Castillo was more to blame for the clinches, and i didnt think JLC even looked too bad in the first 3 rounds it was just Hatton was too much for him.
Who cares what those guys think anyway? The Lewis-Tyson fight was a great example of US commentators being biased.. Lewis was beating him up and all they were saying was "Tyson has a great chin" Hatton wont get much credit over there, but i dont think he'll be losing any sleep over it to be honest.

I canceled my HBO sub (I only had it for the boxing) with a note explaining their crappy/biased boxing analysis as the reason. GOOD BY HBO YOU SUCK. If we all did this they would take notice. I get better boxing analysis on ESB:good!

Thats coz he aint like naz, with his extravagance and outrageous behaviour in front of cam. He dont run his mouth at the camera or taunt his opponents! Ricky stays humble throughout. HBO need clowns to make fights,so that they can join the other bunch of clowns sitting on the commentary panel. Takes one to know one in ther case!

Oh that was absolutely disgusting. I'd have to label that as the worst commentry in the history of the sport. All four of them continously spewed rubbish about what was happening.
Castillo was supposedly shot but could still let off 50-60 shots a round, landing at a 30% clip. Not only that but after his slow start he was beginning to get more into the fight and even win exchanges on the inside. Fuck HBO. They are cocksuckers.
Hatton came out of the gates fast and Castillo couldn't handle it. Castillo admitted pre fight it would be hard because he won't know what angles Hattons shots are coming from. The KO had nothing to do with being shot or not. If it put down that Castillo, it'll put down Castillo two years ago.
Seriously, I'm shocked at how bad the commentry was. Look at how none of them got excited when Castillos knees buckled and then when he went down. They were disinterested in the fight. The ko was clear as day but Lamps thought he was faking a low blow.
Kellermen said congratulations then started spewing shit. What a disgrace. You train for 3 months, for a fight that everyone thinks is 50-50, only to be told hes suddenly shot.
The EXACT same shit happened with Kostya Tszyu.
Hatton was the stronger and more powerful fighter. He won the body bashing war. He started faster and was clearly the more agile, nimble, fluid and dynamic fighter.
He summed up the ko perfectly. Castillo crossed his arms in an Archie Moore style and he found a spot behind his elbow.

Brits are probably the best fans in the world! Even if our fighters leave, 10,000 still rally around to go support them.

What a cock. As he was saying that Hatton was punching and hitting. Even when Castillo had Hatton in a headlock they hated on Hatton.
If Hopkins holds and hits, he's called a master.
Yeah, Hatton clinches but last night he was throwing Castillo around, holding and hitting. It was physical where both wanted to take control. Hatton did what he had to.
Listen to the GF talk about the low blows. Cortez said his cup was a little high and then pointed to where would be considered ok - he pointed about one inch lower than where his belt line was.

Just watched with HBO commentary and completely agree, no wonder Hatton's getting some shit in the General Forum.
Lederman was particularly bad with his 90% bollocks but in general I can't see how devaluing the product as a whole with the negative tone and particularly a man who HBO have spent a lot of money on in Hatton is good for the station. Can't think that their employers will be very happy with them trashing Hatton's performance.

The americans are just pissed that in europe boxing is growing especially in Germany plus the reurgance here in blighty with hatton, calzaghe and khan while in america its dieing a slow and painfull death. The heaveywieght division which was once thier prize possession is long gone never to return and theyre best fighter pbf is an asshole who everyone hates and wants to see lose. All thier best best fighers are either shot like tony,de la hoya and rjj or boring non repect earners such as taylor.
The racial politics in american boxing is also a disgrace, they seem to believe that if a fighter is not from black or hispanic origins then he isnt marketable and thus no use pushing.

So naturally, I am a big fan of his. & of course as I have said until I am blue in the face, I was a massive Eubank fan back in the day.
Of course I lean towards scottish fighters, but just cos I love all things Scotland doesnt mean I hate all things english. Hopefully the younger englanders who dont have pubic hair yet but come in & talk like gangsters to me can get that into their thick fuckin skulls.
But hey, I hate Hatton, so Im public enemy no1 & must hate all things England if I dare hate that wee gobshyte Hatton. Yup, its a kangaroo court in here alright:lol:

Could it be an HBO strategy to reduce the $$$$ they have to pay for Hatton's next contract? I mean, it seems inconceivable that the commentators aren't briefed by HBO execs, effectively spelling the HBO 'spin' on the fight / fighters in advance. Otherwise it seems stupid to slag your 'own' fighter from a box office point of view?It is to do with Hatton having a British promoter.

Hatton could go down as the best British fighter ever. It is plausible. He doesnt beat the memories of Benn Eubank Lewis Naz etc etc.Its not close.2 victories over 2 old men mean squat in the grand scheme of things. He`ll get to the hall alright as these days anyone can get there. And his resume 43 fights unbeaten is impressive. But we shouldnt still be asking the questions"Who has Hatton fought". Kostya was semi retired and fighting once a year and Castillo who turned pro at 15 and has been in many a war (who was also as slow as molasses on the weekend) is surely well past his best.Good victories yes but not impressive for a 40 plus fight pro. These type of bouts should have been happening at least 15 fights ago.Hatton isnt a rookie, he hasnt arrived his here.In order to be considered the best fight the best.

Tszyu wasn't semi retired. He'd just come back with a bang having DESTROYED the consensus number 1 140 pounder. He'd also fought 7 months ago.
Castillo also missed out on a 90 odd fight amateur career, unlike Hatton.
It doesn't matter what should have happened in the past. We are here and now. Marciano didn't seriously step up until he was about 43-0! He ain't great though is he? I mean come on Charles, Walcott and Moore were done right? :patsch
There is no fact in what you say. There is manure but not fact.
Oh my god. Cotto has been brought on marvelously yet he is 30-0 and hasn't got one great win. I love Cotto, he's a thug but your talk is nonsense.
FACT - Tszyu and Castillo are greats in and around Hattons weight.
FACT - Hatton whooped both like they've NEVER been whooped before.
You are talking hindsight rubbish like the rest of the GF. Foresight? Kostya to win by 99.9% of the people and Castillo by 50%. Most picking Hatton to be exposed in some sort of fashion.
Scur you are lost in your hatred. It's disgusting to say the least. It comes across as personal. Thank god I don't know you and we have a tiff, you'd blatently stab me for telling you your shoes are a little dirty.

Hatton showed he can win a fight between body punchers. He won the battle downstairs. Top body punchers like Cotto haven't. Hatton finished Castillo downstairs. Other top body punchers haven't achieved that sort of feat.
Truth is, when Hatton does go downstairs he can punish and finish.
