Or does he plan on fighting again anytime this decade?

He injured himself, from what I remember.

No, he's still going. He wanted to replace Haye against Klitschko, but negotiations never worked out.

It's amazing that Atlas is training Povetkin now. It will be interesting to see what results ensue from their work. On the other hand, I find it inexplicable that Povetkin has been so inactive this past year. That's very dangerous for a guy going into a bout against Klitschko.

Yunno I really wish it was Roach that was training him, I think they'd make a perfect team and Roach would be able to get the best out of him.

I agree. Atlas can get tiresome as an analyst on Friday Night Fights which makes me think he is not the sharpest trainer either.

I guess he will have a tune-up fight in Russia before he finally takes on Wlad next year.
He has been off our radar for some time now.He doesnt really know how to promote himself and make some noise.

The guy needs to get some discipline and lay off the burgers. I wasn't too impressed with him in his last fight. Heard he had serious attitude problems as well.

That would be surprising. You don't get to being the top Super Heavyweight in Russia for years by having attitude and discipline problems.

Yeah, he's obviously lacking discipline... eh?:patsch:roll:

Take a look at his fine record, and on top of that his amateur pedigree. I don't see any lack of discipline in the guy.

You heared wrong, Sasha is one hell of a disciplined pro. The fact that his body ain't that muscled is because of his natural build, not of lazyness. Attitude problems.... you make me laugh there...:rofl

Yep! You are absolutely right in saying this.Discipline is the Alpha and Omega of the game-especially in Russia.
Povetkin is not known to prefer paryting or feasting in restaurants to sweating inside his gym.
Looks can be deceptive. He is one of the best heavies on this globe...............irrespective of the fact that he looks as if butter would not melt in his mouth.
Didnt he beat the Canadien heavy weight LHeuriex black and blue in their encounter? The Canadien looked as if he had been prime Schwarzenegger's twin.

first of all Odo is completely correct about Povetkinz game of training being the main part of his game. one of the MAIN factorz involved with Povetkinz win over Chamberz waz his WORK RATE which was a DIRECT result of his HARD TRAINING

second of all Povetkinz injury waz much more troublesome then his camp advertised due to the fact that it greatly interfered with his ability to keep himself in GREAT shape due to a much longer healing time then the boxing fanz EXPECTED

third of all Povetkin has alwayz had a BUTTERBALL appearance as far as a pro athelete is concerned but at the same time povetkin has NEVER had a PROBLEM shedding extra poundz between fightz as he really hasnt in the past ever put on wieght between them.

and lastly LHeuriex does not look like a arnold twin for the love of god Odo the guy waz just a huge pudgy OAF that could hit pretty hard so dont go RUINING your whole point by confusing the crap out of everyone with your stupid pointz.

Teddy Atlas will not help Povetkin, Teddy is not a good trainer. Just as Kirk Johnson and Michael Grant.

Injuries or not, it looks like he wants Klischko about as hard as Haye.
