Who wins?

The logical pick is G-Man, but I wonder. Watson looked unleased to me at SMW and Gerald, conversely, didn't look to keen in his war at 168. Eubank was astonished at Watson's strength at that weight. I bet Watson could suck it up and fight back.

We never really got to see GMAN against a good technician but his own speed, technical ability and aggression and would let him jump all over Watson imo

Watson was a decent technician. At super-middle I think he takes it. He had the dig to drop Eubank and give him all sorts of problems in their two fights. G-Man has the power but Watson had a nice hands-tight defence.

I'll give G-Man the benefit of the doubt as Watson was generally less gung-ho than Benn but I say he overcomes a few hairy moments to take a clear points victory.

i'd say in one fight between these two - anything can happen.
in a trilogy or more - mixed outcomes. something like 2:1 to i don't know who - also a matter of luck . too close to seriously vote.

Yeah, i'm not voting. I just can't call it.

After weathering a very strong early storm,Watson would take it on points. I would n't put it past Michael to stop the G-man late on either.

Quite possibly. Watson isn't stopping McClellan though; whatever McClellan's deficiences, he could take a punch.

I think G-man woulda stretched Watson. Watson's style of defense would not work well against Gerald.

This would be a 50/50 fight make no mistake.

McClellan had a great chin and enormous power with some good skills.

Watson had a great defence, enormous heart and some good skills.

Both have,in hindsight faced and beat a similar caliber of opposition.

Both lost early in their careers to no one special though Watsons 2nd loss was to a HOF fighter in McCallum whereas the G Man NEVER even met a fighter of McCallums stature (not in the pro ranks anyway)

Both could be stopped late...Watson vs Eubank 2.....McClellan vs Benn.
Strangely enough both fighters were supposedly brain damaged prior to those 2 awful (outcome) fights.

Watson could take this on points over 12 or McClellan could get a late stoppage.

I'm going for a draw.

Hows that then?

McClellan was not a combo puncher like McCallum or a speedster like Jones.

He was essentially a banger like Benn only with a longer reach.

Watson's defence would be an essential key to victory against the G Man imo and could easily win Watson the fight.

I think people are being to kind to watson here. G-man batters watson for a late stoppage imo. I personally feel McClellan went into the benn fight with a ticking time bomb injury. I dont regard that as good a win as most do for benn.
