One week left, One week and the tournament is here one week and its on like Donkey Kong.
My kid has been doing better than expceted in sparring the last two weeks, his weight is at 146, I had though I could bring him down to 141 since his last fight he was around 144.
its not happening, I had called and made an adjustment and moved him up to welter weight. I am not worried, 152 is the top out so we are right in the middle. He is fucking strong right now, I feel it when I come home from the gym every night.
My elbows are killing my my body is sore, its all good. Honestly I am not nervous at all, Maybe a little bit but its stored some where in the back of my mind, Right now I am not even thinking anything but execution at this point, its as if I am fighting.

Todays work was near perfect, nice cool down routines, staying lose focusing on the game plan and execution, He is looking very sharp the last two weeks each day in the gym and in sparring he has gotten a little bit better each time out.
My confidence is there, not over confident I just beleive in the work we have put in I know the last 7 and a half weeks we have put in 100% each step of the way.
Countdown starts now~

Started waking up about 430, my mind was racing went down stairs made some coffee, did a quick count of our gear Gauze, Tape, Ice bag...
Waking the kid up in about another 2 hours, let him skip some rope for a bit before we head down there.
Weigh in starts at noon, after the weigh in and registration we have the draw this could be an all day thing..

We won~ we are advancing to the Semi Finals on Saturday Morning, he did a good job but made some errors along the way but honestly dominated, he just allowed this guy to kinda push him in to the ropes, but he didnt get hit with anything.
He dropped him in the first round, they ruled it a slip for some reason, and from there on pretty much just continued to score nearly everything he threw. The guy he fought seemed to have been really nervous almost as if he were having a panic attack...
Anyhow we advanced and thats whats important, He has to fight a much better fight next time out.... He didnt do horrible or anything he just IMO I think he was looking for the knock out and that caused him to make some mistakes...

About to serve up some dinner grilled chicken and some rice, with Veggies steamed carrots..
Tomorrow the weigh in is at 7 am, we worked out light at the gym today maybe about six rounds real light to stay lose and basicly go over our game plan for tomorrow... (Wont revel that just yet as I found some videos on the web that will help us in this fight)
This is going to be a tuff fight, this kid likes to brawl he won last night by stoppage. We will not make the same mistakes that those who fought him made...
My kid weighs 148 now, thats due to the fight he had so weight is not going to be a concern, its time for him to rest and relax....

The card starts at noon, weighed in this morning at 147 didnt have to avoid fluids or water he ate a good 3 meals with 4 snacks as well, and drank plenty of water.
We are good to go~ Semi Finals today, if we advance we will be fighting for all the marbles god willing.

Fell short on the score cards lost by a point there was a spread of two points, infact we fought someone that was not in our braket they switched it up on us for some reason I thought once they pull the draw thats who you fight apparently not........

He did well, our fight yesterday we were out boxing him the 1st two rounds, the last round we gave it up really we beat ourselves, however we got a standing 8 count for a shot to the elbow, perhaps its cus we were also on the ropes but it wasnt even hard at all... it was very light.
Then he got another one for taking a tap on the shoulder, we lost the fight in the 3rd, however I did ask the kid for a rematch he said he would so hopefully we will see him in October, if not its all good. Take this as a learning experience and move on we advanced the the semi finals, we didnt get our asses beat, we didnt get stopped, we did not get hurt, and we did whip someones ass the 1st fight and we boxed okay in our last fight.
Over all as a trainer I am proud as a father I am honored.:thumbsup
