****** confirmed the fight in his weekly column for the Sun as well.

Cleverly UD - hopefully he can push onto European level after this fight.

This is a much harder fight than Mcintosh... Fry has good Amateur pedigree!!! He started in the pro's quite late so he won't have many more chances after this... REALLY GOOD FIGHT!!!

Really looking forward to to the entire card. Hopefully Rogan smashes Sexton to pieces and Cleverly is tested at least a bit for a change.

I agree, mcIntosh was a crude banger with little ama experiance (think he was a kick boxer), fry is the complete opposite - perfect fight for Clev at this stage and with Fry knowing this may be his last chance could be a very good fight.

Cleverly 116-112 with everyone saying he's shite afterwards cos he didnt look good.

Problem with Courtney is he isn't a fan of the sport and gets very nervous before fights. If he can handle the situation he could give Cleverly a few problems. I'd expect Cleverly to win late stoppage..wide UD.

I remember reading Boxing News in the late 80s and Fry was being tipped as the next big thing to come out out the amatuers!!

Fry's a good fighter, this is a good fight for Cleverly. I expect him to win and win reasonably comfortably but Fry's got good skills and as always the southpaw element will always cause problems.

Is this definitely signed?

This is gonna be Cleverly toughest fight yet.. Fry has the 1 attribute that beats speed providing he uses it to it's full potential!! THE JAB!!

Courtney is a better schooled fighter than anyone Cleverly has faced so far, My only concern is his lack of activity!! That could play a huge roll here, I see it being a very tough fight though, So the fans will be happy.

If Cleverly get's this wrong he could wind up getting stopped in the mid to late rounds!! Courtney is a notoriously slow starter so Cleverly has to take advantage of that without a shadow of a doubt, Cleverly needs to set a high pace and keep it high to show up Cortney's rustiness, Either way I see a good fight and if the odds are high enough I'd put a sly bet on Fry.

Ultimately though I see this being a really good fight and 1 that will bring Cleverly on..:good My prediction after all that ranting is Cleverly BUT I can see it bein a dangerous fight for him..;)

Good fight for Clev. I said a while ago the only worthwhile fights left for him in Britain are Fry and Bellew, I'd like to see Clev come through this and Bellew beat somebody like Oakey and then for them to meet next.

Mate I'd love for that to happen, It'll be interesting to see how it pans out, Also Im itching for a test myself, I think it'll come on 30th October in Liverpool mate:good Cleverly and Fry though is a good match, People are writing Fry off and he has a good chance of upsetting the odds here mate.;)

Yes, Fry presents a different problem for Clev. He's tall, long and well polished. As far as I can see Cleverly hasn't fought anybody like that, Oakey is more a pressure type and McIntosh is not well schooled, just awkward.

Gotta back Clev to come through mind.

Tony Bellew

Courtney has the 1 attribute you need to control speed, THE JAB!! It's the most important punch in boxing and Courtney has a fantastic jab to be fair to him, He also has underated power! Clev ain't faced anyone with Fry's pedigree and schooling so it will pose him problems, However I still fancy Clev to be too young, fast and ambitious!! Probably by decision..;)

Good to see Cleverly keeping busy and facing some different types of fighter. Think he will be far to fresh for Fry though, but hope it goes a decent few rounds

I think that Fry will old man Cleverley and stop him in the 8th or 9th...:yep

PaddyD1983

Courtney is a notoriously slow starter

Agreed - which makes me wonder why he agreed to Prizefighter. He was the best boxer in that pack, dont care what anyone says, but the format was all wrong for him personally.

Although I will hold my hands up and say I picked him at the time :patsch

This should be a good fight bujt Clev is class and Fry has never looked like living up to his early billing so I will go for a Clev win by late KO.

Excellent fight for Clev...really happy its been made........poses a completely different style to anything Clev has faced before.

If he looks impressive in this one.....Euro has to be next stop for him.

TO ALL THE NON-BOXERS POSTING SOME OF THESE MESSAGES. Don't believe Mr ******s hype surrounding his fighters who has Cleverly fought??, Has he knocked anyone out who can fight?? The only reason Courtney is not rated higher is he has been avoided and let down, after prizefighter he should have boxed in Poland against their No 1 for the minor IBC title, they pulled out 2 weeks before, then Barney was meant to fight him in Swindon, he pulled out days before, so Courtney is ready for this fight, it should of happened years ago but this time he will shock some people except for people in the know

I think Clev wins this by early KO.

Clev has enough to beat Fry who will leave himself open at some point. Should be entertaining while it happens.

fights been moved to york hall, its a decent card aswell so hopefully i'll go, you've got to take cleverly for the win, hopefully be competative but fry dont like pressure so we'll see.......

Clev pts after a tough night.

I just hope Fry doesn't get stage fright. If he gets through the first few, it could be interesting. Good test for Clev, which after the last few fights is a welcome change...if he does this one early it will be impressive.

They need to put Cleverly in with a puncher IMO before pushing him to Euro level.

Let's see how he deals with that before getting carried away - though Fry is a good test right now.

StevenB

I know a puncher from Liverpool who would be interested...

Fry has a nice, awkward style which will make it difficult for Cleverly to win by knockout.

I predict a lopsided UD for Cleverly.

Clev KO within 4.

shaymus

By non-boxing people, I mean those who only believe in the hype surrounding unbeaten boxers, armchair supporters if you lke i.e. bcause Cleverly's unbeaten and his last 4 are KO wins they think he is the next worldbeater. Look at his amateur and pro record next to Fry's and understand who really is a fresh fighter with the better pedigree

My mistake then. But I thought he had shoulder trouble a few years back?

My mistake then. But I thought he had shoulder trouble a few years back?

not to my knowledge, usual aches and pains but no injury, he's just avoided by promotors and their prospects, if he get 1 or 2 fights a year you can guess he's had another 5 or 6 pullouts, I think coz he left ****** for Audley he's been tarred with the same brush as his old mate, Audley prommised him the world alongside him, you know the rest
