Ah shut up, no-one really cares, I support British and Irish fighters equally (There should do away with the 'British' title and have a 'British Isles' title instead

Lewisbell, well said! not about the "British Isles title" thing - but the first sentance. Irish guys support British and Irish fighters as well.
jonnytightlips, you sure he's "Irish"! I think you'll find he might not be - not in the way you mean anyway - and so what if he is British? I'd still support him.
jeff, good shout - he is a crackin wee fighter and much more suited to the pros - Barry will look after him. Now we just need Phil Sutcliffe to turn over as well.

He probably wont get shown unless Simpson can knock out Truscott early. I never really rated Truscott so hopefully that might happen.

Sky will probably cut the programme after the second round of the Simpson/Truscott fight with no explanation.

As far as I'm aware Frampton is British, but like yourself I'm not going to support him any less because of it.
He's the raining Irish Amateur Featherweight champion and won the title in an absolute war with David Oliver Joyce. If anyone has that fight recorded btw would they please put it up on youtube !
His style is perfectly suited to the pros, big puncher, aggressive when he wants to be but not short on skill either, he's a fantastic prospect.

Frampton won a UD (40-36) :good
Shame Sky never showed it.
sky have a habit of showing some pointless fights from the undercard. didn't mind seeing cook back but who was on after?

Holden who is in prizefighter - so I guess his fight had a bit more 'interest'. Also that lanky light-middle who looked half decent.

Thanks Slap, I had looked for that on RTÉ's archives but somehow couldn't find it.
I recommend people watch Frampton's fight with Joyce and Sutcliffe's(who could turn pro in the not too distant future) fight with JJJ.
Frampton v Joyce is the first fight shown.

I have it saved in my favourites - RTE keep everything on line but never publicise it from some reason!
Framptons fight was great and Sutcliffe-Joyce well that was a belter!
Its so obvious that Sutcliffe should turn pro - he'll do fuck all if he is tryin ta stick around for London 2012.

True true I agree that I do need to build a fan base back home. Mcguigan has a bit of an arrangement with matchroom until he gets his promoters licence, which should be soon enough so until then looks like il be on matchroom bills. When he gets his licence I reckon most of my fights will be back home! I can't wait to fight in the ulster hall! Best atmosphere in the world!!! :)

Glad to be here mate :) I was speaking to paddy 2night in the gym, havnt really talked to him about the incident at the worlds. But Ive spoken to some of the other boys like willy mccloughlin and eric donovan and they said although it was a bad reaction it has been blown outta proportion by the press. At the minute tho paddys definitely still amateur and I think he will still be for a good while yet! I'm 95% sure it in magherafelt there was also talk of dungivan but I'm nearly sure it's magherafelt.
