trinidad from the list. but among all fighters, a lot had great left hooks. fraziers left hook was deadly, hearns lefthook to the body and head was a great punch in his arsenal, rjj left hook lead out of nowhere was something else as well.

De La Hoya on that one. I read somewhere he is a natural lefty and boxes orthodox, not sure for sure if thats true but if it is than no wonder he has such a good left.

Henry Cooper's left hook did the job nicely, just ask Muhammad Ali.

Wladimir Klitschko
ridiculous.
There are quite a lot of fighters out there today that have much better left hooks.. believe me.

Today it is Wmadimir Klitschko, shortest, most precise, and most powerful. All time I go with Joe Frazier, it was beautiful to watch. I am only talking heavyweights, otherwise there is too many variables.

Tito had the best Left Hoot of the 3 listed in this Thread.
There are guys with better left hooks than him - but he's the best out of the three.

Tommy Morrison
Lamon Brewster
Rafael Marquez
Israel Vazquez

someone mentioned dempsey's against williard, must say even on the old fight film that looks a devastating hit, having to punch up as well against a 6'6" guy.dempsey must be up there in the all time great left hookers.

Yes. RJJ had and still has a sick left hook, definitely overlooked way too often in discussions like these. :deal

Yes, but only from the heavyweights, the current heavyweights.

Thats definately one of the best. He can throw a tripple left hook as fast as others throw a single one.

Tyson had a great left hook, Tua in his prime as well but he has problems to land it against good opponents.
Yes, but only from the heavyweights, the current heavyweights.
All time it was Joe Frazier in my opinion.

Yes,Joe Frazier had a great left hook!
But its difficult to tell who had the best.
DLH has the best left hook.
Mayorga said it was the strongest punch he's ever felt.
It also took Vargas out completely.
He KO Paez and Leija in two which is yet to be done and will not considering they are retired.
During RJJ reign in a couple of his fights the commentators would refer to RJJ left as an Oscar-Like left.

Roy's left hook doesn't look all that much like an Oscar left hook, in my opinion.

Oscar left hook is a combination of an uppercut and lefthook alot of the times, I seen RJJ throw a similar punch is a few of his fights.

Out of the fighters you listed, Trinidad.
Of all time, I'd say Joe Frazier
The best left hook KO ever - either Foster-Tiger or Robinson-Fullmer

Trinidad, Oscar, or Cotto???
I say Trinidad.
To the body: Cotto
To the head: Hmmm....tough to choose between Oscar and Tito.
Although Tito has more power, I've seen Oscar shorten his left hook up better than I have Tito.

Al "Bummy" Davis
U almost feel Cotto's left hook to the body when u see him on tv so ill have to go for Cotto but Oscar and Tito are not far behind.

ODH could get off with his left hook in any position from any angle with power.. Tito had the perfect high shoulder left hook that would take your head off. But ODH could just rip it. I say ....................................Tito..since we are talking perfect.

This is an easy one i think out of the listed, De La Hoya. Like mentioned above he put Mayorga on his ass first round with a good connecting left, i'm sure Tito connected with a left early that couldn't do that to Mayorga in their fight. Some may argue it only put Mayorga on his ass like that because it surprised him but i disagree..

Tua, Frazier, and Tyson had great left hooks. Can't forget Tito either. Cotto now also has a hell of a left hook.

Let's not forget Julio Cesar Chavez's left hook to the body and the left hook of Ruben Olivares

ridiculous.

Bullshit.
When was the last time any fighter, especially a HW could throw a planted full power left hook as well as a hook disguised as a jab like Wladimir does?
I swear he starts by throwing a jab & then turns it into a hook better than any fighter I've seen. It's really 2 different types of hooks that he throws & he's a natural with it.
If you don't see that you're not watching closely enough.

Morrison had some excellent form in his left hook also.............it was a perfectly thrown left hook with power but he didn't work it off the jab.
