Yassine El Maachi moved to 10-4 (4 Ko's) tonight with a punch perfect 3rd Round KO win over journeyman Drew Campbell tonight and has asked me to put out a challenge to every Light Middleweight and Welterweight in the country who may stumble across this post.

He's on a run of 6 wins (3 by KO) since teaming up with Kevin Maree. All we ask for is decent notice and a fair ref. Yas and his team are uninterested in building 17 consecutive wins against journeyman. He wants real fights, against fighters willing to challenge themselves and not hide behind selected low risk journeyman and unknown foreign opposition.

He will fight ANY light-middle, or more suitably ANY welterweight in the country.

he leads with hooks, fights of the wrong foot and just looks slightly kamikaze, you need to have and be an athletic phenom or a KO artist to bail you out with that reckless approach

I'd like to see some of his other fights to be honest. That was a fantastic punch he finished the fight with but in all honesty, that lad was cannon-fodder last night. I agree with the 'beating conception' comment however last night he looked very flawed for me and i'd like to see whether he was just sloppy coz it was a poor fighter or is this just his style. If this is his style then i'd expect him to have big problems towards the upper echelons of British Level TBH

Yeah agreed Billy. Naseem will alwasy be the yardstick for fighters like this especially in the UK but he had DEVASTATING power which Al Maachi doesn'tseem to have. Also his reflexes didn't look THAT good IMO. I could be wrong but i'd like to see more form him

Yassine's a cool cat. Sometimes he's a little reckless, but he's going to give anyone he fights a hard time. He has a lot more confidence too than his earlier fights which will make him hard to beat.

He does have very respectable power too. Whilst not quite Wayne Alexander or Naseem Hamed in the power department, he hits hard enough to hurt most opponents. He absolutely battered Jamie Ambler, hurt him and stopped him in 3 rounds - and Ambler is now a light heavyweight!!

He is certainly a colourful addition to the welter/light-middle divisions and all prospective opponents should take him very seriously.
