Loving the fact they have a fair bit of boxing on old fights ect. But is anyone else having trouble catching it. Im with virgin media and their digital tv guide is wrong. And also my printed tv guide is wrong. I waited in till 3 yesterday so i could catch cinderella man story but to no avail as it was extreme sports???

Apparently ESPN are in talks to televise Amir Khan's next fight in december (news of the World). Do you think this is likely or is just spin to get a new contract from Sky?

I'm sure he signed either a 6 or 8 fight contract with Sky box office.

In the people it says Khan is on a fight by fight contract and if they get the fight it will be on normal ESPN no extra fee. They are in rumours to be looking at a deal with Hennessy Sports as well. Also they are in for David Haye against Valuev by that report so I will take it with a pinch of salt.
I hope they come good and show some boxing to rival Sky Sports but fuck that going after Khan leave him with Sky and get the other contracts with Hennessy and Hayemaker and I would be more than happy with that with the odd US card put in on top of that. It sounds promising.

Due to the bad press, fan outrage and less than expested PPV buys it wouldn't surprise me if the contract was terminated. I'd love to see Khan on ESPN as I don't pay for it.

A shame they can not show fights at the time they take place instead of the days delayed action we have been getting but it is early days.

It is a shame and in my opinion there is no excuse for not showing Woods vs Cloud live in my opinion. it's not secondsout's fault either, you're telling me ESPN can't afford to beat an internet site to show something from their own channel?

Yeah had the same issues with ESPN guide being totally different, but they still managed to stick to the Tyson - Douglas prog yesterday.
Only read one bit of news bout Khan going to ESPN and that was in todays NOTW...
Will take all these rumours with a pinch of salt, as there has been no confirmation of any type of deals etc...

I think in the next few months Espn will come up with some live boxing e.g Haymaker or Hennesey and some tape delayed american boxing. I also think they will get the Bunce hour back.

I have signed up quite pleased so far with the football and ufc. I am sure they will pick up some live boxing soon.

ESPN are apparently getting Khan and Haye-Valuev. Haye-Valuev is confirmed for Sky so I understand that it's ESPN IN THE STATES that want to show those fights, rather than HBO or Showtime

Well if they are to show live boxing from the states they need to sort out viewing in the early hours....by all accounts during the last live event (UFC) the broadcast stopped and everyone missed out on the live main event!!?....

If you were on Freevie with Setanta this was usually the case. Stayed up to watch Jones-Trinidad and it wasn't on, they extended the signal sometimes but you could never be sure.

To their credit I got five months free subscription when I complained, but I would rather had paid and actually got to see the Boxing.

Davemaker, you do realise how big a company ESPN is as well? Their UK endeavour won't end up in them going bust, that I can assure you. If worst comes to worst (which I don't expect) they'll just go back to America with their tail between their legs. I see them staying here for good. Also, they have hardly any Prem games to show next season so have to make deals elsewhere for other fan interests.

I think they made a deal with sky, so sky give them some of their games for the next few seasons and thats why espn is cheaper if you get sky sports.

If not than not many people will subscribe next season as most subs come from footy fans.

ESPN 2 has too many sparring sessions they call fights. Wino vs. undefeated fighter.

see the thing that people go on about ESPN boxign and there FNF being shown over here, they arte just short sighted .There is one more scheduled FNF this year (in a few weeks ) and that is that until January .Im sorry but why should we spend £9 on that ,when there is nothing else they have commited to boxing wise.
