How confident are you guys in Fury?
I'm a fan of Fury and have been since I watched his first pro fight. But McMuffin ain't no pushover and has been 12 rounds with Williams. Fury's chin is untested and no seems to be able to work his body.
I'm slightly concerned that this is a step too far for Fury so soon.

24 rounds with Williams actually

Fury seems to think a lot of himself and doesn't seem to think too much of McDermott so, by his reckoning, it should be a walk in the park. The reality could be very different though as this will be the first opponent he's been in with who isn't their simply to try and avoid getting knocked out. He's actually been 24 rounds with Williams and this could very well end in humiliation for Fury.

I meant to say 12 rounds with Williams twice, but I was doing something else at the time.

Mcmuffin beat Williams twice so this fight should be good. Fury I think will win because Williams is nothing to gauge a fighter by.
Anyway it should be McFlury vs McMuffin. Fury is fat himself.

I see Tyson winning. Stoppage in later rounds and a lively after fight interview i suspect.

There's no way you can have McDermott winning both fights v Williams.
The second fight Williams clearly won and the first fight I felt most peoples outrage at the decision was caused by Jim Watts biased commentating.
Watt was giving credit to McDermott for literally nothing, the best he was doing most of the time was being extremely ineffective with the jab where as Williams was at least landing some meaningful shots(only in singles though) throughout the contest. The points deductions from Williams were bollocks too.

Sky have always felt the need to hype fatty, for some reason. Before his ankle collapsed through sheer stress of carrying his blubber and the Skelton debacle, they were trying to give him the big build up.

To be honest I can not remember the fights. All I can remember is McMuffin doing nothing but look shit scared until he realised Williams was a bag of wank and then carry on doing very little. I think similar happened in the second which is a real shame because John could have won the fights if he had some heart.
Watt is Jonny Nelsons nemesis.

Hes probably confident because hes seen williams-mcdermott 2 like i have and based on that showing fury will stop mcmuffin within 6. If fury cant bowl over guys like mcdermott he will never get to the world level.

I've seen both Williams-McDermott fights and I'm still not confident about Fury.
We'll see what happens on the night..

Thing with McDermott is he comes in to near on every fight tentative and only throws aggressive shots when he he's been hit and thinks ok i can take his shots. He gets very nervous and i have a feeling he will fold against Fury and if Fury hits hard as he says he does he should promptly end the fight in mid rounds. I will stick with late rounds...got a feeling Fury will try bust him up a bit to take piss.

I'd like to see how Fury's neck reacts to a punch aiming towards his face. Has anybody else noticed the involuntary action his head and eyes perform when a punch goes near his face ?? If not i'll explain. His head rotates 180` away from the punch and his eyes close and face scrunches up. If it was a still head shot I was looking at I would swear he was trying to force a poo out

belshaw did, he was just shit
mcdermott looked shit against williams last time out, and i think the occassion will get to him again. fury does look scared to get hit, but at least he stays on the offensive and throws a lot - something williams didn't do in either fight.

I am looking forward to this as Fury will have an opponent who will hit him back with something that can hurt him... :yep
Fury has not got the rounds in the bank at the level that McDermott has and this is where I think it will matter...:yep
Fury will be going to KO McDermott early doors...:think
If this goes beyond 5 rounds I can see Fury running out of gas and getting stopped by McDermott late on between 8 or 10..:think

I expect Fury's workrate to cause a TKO by mid rds, his punching skills will be pivotal in this fight. McMuffin is nothing special and certainly not champ material.

I expect Fury to win but this is a step up for an unproven prospect and if you remember what Mcdermot did to pele reid just over 12 months ago he is defo capable of pulling off an upset.
PS I know Reid's not that great but he is fast and heavy handed. and a onetime prospect
and many thought he'd beat Mcdermot.

I was ringside. He just bulldozed him completely in that ugly Skelton way. Mcdermott looked petrified.
Fury takes this early - KO2

Think big john might be a bit intimidated by furys rep (not justified yet) and become a bit gun shy with fury teeing off on him for a early to mid round stoppage.

Caught him with a good left-right and dumped him, McDermott got up but he was gone ("He's gone, Jim!") and got clubbed down another couple times I think.

Fury should be fine as long as he moves well and uses his jab to keep him at range. McDermott is only effective when people stand still in front of him.

Exactly. Fury should be bowling over guys like this with his advantages. I want to see fury challenge for the british and finally begin his developement as a fighter at euro and world level. He isnt going to get much out of fighting guys like mcdermott aside from how to wrestle and survive.

Totally agree :good
Even with the 3 point deduction and 1 possible 10-8 round in McDermott's favour, the fight was still Williams. It was close, only because of the points taken away, but Williams still won.

Wasn't McDermott going through some personal problems in the build up to the Skelton fight? I'm sure I read that his newly born son had died in hospital that day.
