I'm noit sure I understand how Matthew Macklin (whom I don't know) can be such a big favorite (almost 4 to 1) over Amin Asikainen, whom I know a bit and perceive to be a solid operator.

I'm curious to see the perception of the European forum dwellers...

Macklin is being way overrated after his win over a 35 year old Wayne Elcock, it was an impressive win but it's not quite the feat it's being made out to be. I'm saying this as a big fan of Matthew btw but I think the Asikainen fight is 50-50.

Macklin is a solid all round fighter. He has good skills and decent power, along with a good chin. You should be able to see the Macklin vs Moore fight easily on youtube which is a cracking fight. 1-4 is very wide in this fight but i think he will win it.

Moore is on the brink of a world title fight at light middle. Macklin has looked better since the move up in weight.

hxWIppRArKA Macklin is such a strong favourite mainly due to this fight.

1-4 is a bit too much for me, but I disagree that Macklin's overated.
Yes Elcock was getting on a bit and he's froze in fights before.
But Macklin's performance in that fight was sensational, he looked quicker and stronger than he ever has before.

His defense was a lot better too and he's finally seemed to have found the right blend between boxer and puncher. He's definitely not the same man that fought Jamie Moore a few years ago.

Asikainen has faded a bit too and at 33 and still trying to comeback after a bad setback against Gevor, he may not have the confidence he used have either. Home advantage is another little bonus for macklin aswell, but I still can't quite explain 1-4, that's a little steep for me.
