I just wanted to highlight HOW BAD our heavyweight prospects are.
Enzo and Haye have the height, reach, size, power, not to mention speed and skill.
I really want to see Haye spark Mormeck and then go North. I want to see Macca spark Cunnigham and define himself at 200 before moving up.

Well dah... at Heavyweight post 19th century we have always sucked at Heavyweight; Lewis being the exception to prove the rule.;)

Akinwande?
Bruno?
Hide?
Lewis?
That is four good heavyweights who were champs and come from the last era.
Our current crop barely break domestic en route to Europe.

Enzo would be fat at Heavy and he ain't that good either.
Why would he be fat? That is stupid guess and you know it. Plus he is with Enzo Calzaghe who works em quite hard. He isn't aesthetically gifted but Enzo has always come in quite good shape.
How he is not that good? He ko'd a man that a 350 pound failed to. He is the WBO cruiser champ and has beaten a good set of fighters. Plus if he beats Cunnigham he'll be the premier cruiser.

Akinwande ended up being Nigerian, American and continental European. A solid British amateur who was good up to European level like many a Brit, but Tucker aside he never beat a then top 20 Heavyweight under the Union flag.
Bruno was a fixture in the top 10/20 for what 10 years? A bit like Cooper then;). Sure Bruno was bigger and better, but he did have 20 years of evolution on his side. Bruno too, choked when he met world class. His title win was against a glorified journeyman, he even then he tried his best to blow it, it was just McCall was that bad, that night.
Hide was an example of the cruiserweight wanting heavyweight money, I do not blame him for fighting as a Heavyweight and he did an awful lot despite having that chin. If Haye can do half as well, he would of done good.
But Hide showed as early as the Peterson fight that he was always going to have big limits fighting the big men.

I'm not sure what your point is. Are you simply saying they weren't that good?
Lewis, Akinwande, Hide, Bennt and Bruno. That is five British champs from the previous era. That speaks for itself.
All of them were good fighters.

He is a bit up in the air. He was born in England but I think his nationality was American.

They were OK fighters, but no worse or better in standing than any other era. Pre 1990 by default the European Champion was a top 10 fighter, thus we always had Brits at the top of the rankings, but like Bruno, Akinwande and Hide they eventually proved themselves not good enough at the very top.

I'm specifically talking about what we've come from. We've come from about 5 champions to nothing. Some of those champs were Euro winners.
Being EBU champ still gets you a high ranking. Akinwande, Hide and Bruno were titlists so they did prove themself at the top. It is hard to see our current crop even being European rulers, let alone titlists.
None of our domestic crop have managed to dominate and move on though we've been hearing for many years that they will. Williams got a lucky break by beating Tyson and getting a title shot but not much else. I'd say they are all top25 but that isn't great.

Liking Cruiser lately.
Heavy punchers like Haye, Macca and Ding are delivering some nice KO's.
Haye should beat Mormeck as long as his weight doesn't affect him, watched Gurov trouble Mormeck.

It's not a guess! He's hardly ripped at cruiser is he?

Those are his genetics, not because he is fat. You can see even when in the best shape ever he slightly has bitch tits.

I'd say they are all top25 but that isn't great.
Richard Dunn, John L Gardner, Funso Banjo, Hughroy Currie and indeed Horace Notice were no worse or better than Williams or Skelton...
As suspect as he was as a pro, at least we had an Olympic (Super) Heavyweight champion, something we never had in the 70s...
The era looks bad because of what Lennox was. But Lewis was an exception and has now gone, we have to deal with we have now, which is four fighters on the fringes of the top 50, which is not bad really for a country our size.
