I dont think anybody doubts Barrera's legacy. He's a living legend.
But one thing you could doubt is if he's able to beat the man who has beat him before especially at this time in his career.

If Marco Antonio Barrera beats Manny Pacquiao on October 6th, I would put him as the 2nd greatest Mexican fighter in boxing history. Right now, I have him at 5th behind Chavez, Sanchez, Oliveres, and Lopez with Zarate at 6th. But a win over Pacquiao and I would be willing to rank him above my 4th place and 3rd place, above the great Salvador Sanchez and into the 2 spot. A win over Pacquiao would do wonders - Barrera will have beaten another great champion and future hall of famer and the legend of Barrera will grow because he would have been counted out so many times, but would come back strong when the underdog. I hope he wins!
