What's your last pick?

I'm taking Franklin by UD

Vitor Belfort

Vitor "the Phenom" Belfort by TKO... franklin's chin is not that good and that is bad news against belfort fast hands.

Franklin UD but id give a strong chance for Vitor by TKO.

I'm leaning towards a Franklin decision, but Belfort could catch him and put his lights out. Should be interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

On a side note, Vitor is jacked. Dude makes Machida look completely undeveloped by comparison.

Vitor should hold pretty much every technical advantage in this bout. He's the logical pick.

Belfort.

I think if Franklin gets past the first round it'll be a Franklin UD. Belfort is a quick and powerful striker, but after the Wandy fight, Franklin should be ready.

Belfort KO, I don't think Vitor is a good style match-up for Rich.

well, belfort is on a a 4 fight win streak, and KO'd his last 2 opponents, so i predict belfort via TKO

If Vitor doesnt smash Rich early im pretty sure Rich just phyiscally and mentally dominates him in the 2nd and 3rd. Vitor is alot like Gabriel Gonzaga he could destroy anyone in the world when hes on but how many times have we seen Vitor truely have a fight taken to him and put in serious trouble only to come back and win ? Franklins did it countless times.

I agree with the comparison but Belfort is so much better than Gonzaga as a fighter just because he could really beat some of the best fighters out there and has proven it on more than a few occasions. Gonzaga aint destroying any good fighters in their prime. Im with you with Rich though, you take the losses to Anderson, he would be top 5 p4p easy now, hes that good. Just not Silvas level, no one is.

seems like an old picture of a younger Lyoto and a juiced up Vitor

I'm going to go with Franklin via UD. I can't see him stopping Belfort, whereas I could easily see Belfort catching him. But my gut says that Franklin keeps the distance, fights a smart fight, and pulls it off.

Yeah man hes 0-3 vs Anderson and Machida who IMO shouldnt count they are from another world. He lost a razor close fight to Hendo and we know who was more beat up in the fight for sure and that was Hendo.

Its a hard pick, Vitor looks old, I have't seen any new fights to see how much he has left, I think Rich will take it because his been fighting a higher level of competition as of late.

Gotta go with Belfort to blitz Franklin at some point. Vitor has always been a special fighter that often failed to live up to his potential. If he comes in with his A game -he will steamroll Rich.

If it's Vitor I saw past 2 fights, Vitor takes this by early, 1st or 2nd rnd. TKO/KO.

Well Rich hasnt exactly looked like shit vs better oppostion. Rich destroyed a really good fighter in Matt Hamil whos never lost, arguablly and according to most defeated the great Dan Henderson and clearly defeated Wanderlei Silva. Rich is a great fighter I wish people would accept that.

He's too technical. Belfort looks like a monster when he's on... Ace looks like a surgeon going to work. It's just not as exciting, in theory. But I love watching Bernard Hopkins fight, so Franklin is greatly appreciated by me.

I love watching Hopkins when he steps his workrate up just a bit then its really masterful IMO. If Franklin gets going and really takes the fight to Vitor I cant see Vitor not mentally folding or all of a sudden adapting and eventually win the fight. Ive said it before I dont recall Vitor coming back to win any big fights where he was behind his biggest wins are Lindland,Couture,Wanderlei,Tank and he ended them early. Rich isnt a easy guy to finish I mean Machida and Anderson really had to beat his ass down to finish him off and the other fights hes been hurt like Wandy,Louiseau,Tanner hes recovered incredibly quick.

Rich is a smart guy, who knows how to construct a good gameplan. Belfort isn't that difficult to prepare for in the first place. Rich is going to let Belfort gas himself, stay moving and counter with jabs and lost of leg kicks. When Belfort starts to tire and get stationary, Rich will take him to the ground and tko him from the guard in the 3rd.

Rich is a tough guy to TKO Tito couldnt do it and Randy needed cuts the last time. I think theres a strong chance of Rich tapping him Overeem style.

I am hoping an improved Belfot comes in. He has the skills but never really used them because he either lost or won with his blinding hand speed. Hopefully, he has he shit together. I don't want Rich to lose but I think a new improved Belfort would be a great addition the the UFC.

So if he has been training with couture, I would expect that he has improved and honed his skills.

Technically Rich should win, but Belfort can't be counted out.

I am going to go with Belfort.

I'm thinking Belfort overwhelms Rich with his quick hands and gets the TKO late in the first round.

Another hidden poll :-(

Oh well, I voted Belfort but he`s the most hot & cold elite level fighter in MMA history so nothing will suprise me.
I try to be optimistic so I`ll assume Vitor is coming in hot like he did vs Lindland.

Belfort by TKO rd 2.

You guys are serious about choosing Franklin? I think Belfort's found new life training under Couture. He is going to blitz Franklin. Rich is solid and dependable - but Vitor is in that elite class with guys like Anderson Silva. Franklin will have no answer for him.

Thats how I felt it was so damn shocking. I was what a 3-4 minute fight and Vitor threw basically nothing then he throws one punch you barley see and Franklin slumps down 3 more super fast punches and its over. I swear if you took a long blink of the eyes you miss the finish. Kinda reminded me of Couture-Liddell III you got settled into that fight then 1 quick right hand and 2 quick punches overtop Couture and its over or even Liddell-Evans they almost come out of knowhere. Very shocking to watch and you dont never know what to say its like ............. with your jaw at your chest.

yeah its why I love MMA, it can really end anytime...
just like the two last fight of Fedor..
especially vs AA.. I was watching it on my PC and fuck, I was like : WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???.
Some finish are goddamn fast and brutal
and I never expected Franklin to get TKOed like that really fast, I mean ANderson Silva needed to hit him with everything to get him down, and like you said, Vitor didnt throw nothing really until that point and bam in 2 seconds, its all over, bye bye

Yeah man that all proves just how explosive Vitor Belfort can be I mean Machida and Silva really had to beat Rich down to stop him especially those Silva fights. What a gift it must be to have super fast hands and punches that feel like bricks.

If Vitor keeps his head straight - he is going to be difficult for anyone to defeat. He could very well be reaching his mental prime under Couture's tutelage. His weight is certainly going to be an issue as he is expected to campaign at 185 - but in reality he may as well just stay at 205. He can mix in just as well with the light heavies.
