Did anybody know about this? He's fighting on the Sebastian Sylvester under card this weekend against some journeyman. It's happened quite quickly as Pulev was fighting at the world amateur boxing championships just a few days ago.
Never the less, a good and much needed addition to the European heavyweight boxing scene.
Well, he already wanted to turn pro after the European Championships in November 2008 and there was talk that he was signed by Sauerland and would debut on the Valuev-Holyfield card in December 2008 but he wasn't allowed to because he had to fullfill his contract with the Bulgarian army so that not really a surprising move.
Ahem, that's interesting. I must have missed it on the news. Is this according to boxrec only?
I will ask around but no one talks about this on the Bulgarian boxing forum.

Not a bad prospect.
From what I learn it is true and this time Pulev will debut as pro. I have been waiting for this for a long time. He is 26 so it is not late.
Wow! Very good news!:good

Didn't Pulev defeat Timurizev before Timurizev fell apart? If I remember the guy right he's a good boxer, but not one to win by going toe to toe with the punchers.
Didn't Pulev defeat Timurizev before Timurizev fell apart?
Well, he won a decision against Timurziev 2005 in a tournament 2005 on his home turf in Bulgaria. On the other hand Timurziev stopped him in the semifinals of the Euopean Championships 2006.

For his pro debut tonight, Kubrat Pulev will face Florian Benke (2-3) from Romania. Sauerland plans to have him fight once per month for the rest of the year so he can be 4-0 entering 2010.

I dont expect Pulev to be a world class fighter, but in Europe everything should be possible. If fat old Paolo Vidoz, who looked just terrible against Skelton, still gets a shot at the European title, then just about everyone decent can go to the top.
I think Pulev looks a bit like Chagaev, he's taller though.

The next undisputed HW champion of the world. Book it. WHO NEX
He can get himself a title shot for one of the EU belts, but he must work hard on his stamina. 4 rounds to 12 is the biggest problem for most of the am->pro boxers.
BTW Is Ivo Gotzev his manager?
Yep, his girlfriend is bulgarian a pop folk/softcore star(if you think that Lady Gaga videos are slutty...).

Pulev´s attitude was terrible in his debut fight... His opponent was poor, but still able to land several good shots on Pulev.

Hot chick!
I am looking forward to watching Pulev live on the undercard of AA vs Taylor in Germany's capital Berlin on octubre the 17th.
By the way Pulev is scheduled to take on an undefeated GErman based African with 5 victories under his belt.
Well,not that bad,eh!
Pulev vs a undefeated fighter in his second pro fight!
Very good matchmaking!
Sauerland really knows how to match his boys. His rival Kohl can certainly take a leaf out of his rival's book!:good

The Bulgarian had to take some good shots! Good opponent for his pro debut!
Yes, Pulev was caught few times by the Romanian. Maybe he took him lightly. I hope he makes the right adjustments for his next fight with that unbeaten opponent.
It seems that his opponent for the Abraham v Taylor undercard was changed. Initially it was reported that Pulev would face Tshibuabua Kalonga. Now it is Serdar Uysal.

Uysal is a decent spoiler. He cant box or punch, but he is akward. I dont expect Pulev to be impressive in this one.
Thank you for the info, Toney! I do not remember watching a Uysal fight. He seems to be a small heavyweight.

The Bulgarian put up a quite impressive show of boxing in the ring. I liked the way he took his time and systimatically dismantled his Turkish foe!
Well done job IMO!:good
I think that this time Kubrat did better than in his debut fight. I hope that Sauerland will keep him busy. Suerland's people say that they think Kubrat should come to Germany. At this point he lives and trains in Bulgaria.

Probably shouldn't have got the decision against timurziev then
I couldnt believe my very own eyes when reading that Pulev will square off against Lamon Brewster's conqueror Gbenga Oloukun-in his 3rd pro fight- on the undercard of Valuev vs Haye:admin:admin:admin
Pure madness! Damn! The Nigerian olympian beat Brewster in one of his last fights, had a bloody close fight with Dettweiler in his last outing to a ring, and has all in all 20 fights in the pro circus.
Pulev has twice beaten totally unknown no-hopers up to now.He is a rookie in the paid ranks.
He seems to be travelling on the fast track.I for my part think that he will lose this upcomming fight.Far too early to take on someone like Gbenga at this very early stage of the Bulgarian's career.
Not even Povetkin and Solis have matched as toughly as Pulev.
Damn! The under card fights are even more interesting than the main event, Haye vs Valuev! Pulev vs Gbenga, and Helenius vs Bidenko.

Wasn't Helenius supposed to fight either Brewster or Platov?
I think Bidenko is a harder fight than Brewster. After that Boytsov loss i hope Bidenko gets another good win or two under his belt & gets back in the mix. Big fan of his.

Good matchmaking. Taking in to account Kubrat isn't getting any younger and has a stellar amateur career he should be moved on very quickly in this weak era of heavyweights.
Interestingly enough, if Kubrat wins this fight he'd leap frog Oloukun and be ranked in the top ten of the WBO.

Hi guys,
It's very nice that after Tontcho Tontchev we once again has a professional fighter, who may impress European fans :) I am very glad that I was in Berlin to see live the second pro fight of Kubrat. Here are some photos that i made (the use on other web pages/print edition without permission is prohibed:). On the last photo is how looks the face of the Turkish fighter after 3 and half rounds with Pulev

I am sorry that will not be able to present on his third fight, cos it really will be very tought, but for sure i think Kubrat will not have problems. With the guys, we were in Berlin, we have a chance to speak a lot with Kubrat before and after the fight. He said that is ready to fight every week :) I hope that they will put the match ot TV.
Thanks for the pics :good
He looks a lot like Chagaev. Can't believe Pulev is fighting Oloukun in just his 3rd pro fight!

I also think that Bidenko is a tougher n ut to crack than Brewster at this stage of his career.
I also like Bidenko's style.Of course I will root for him against Helenius.I think that he will be able to outbox the green rookie and win a point decision.
Helenius is gifted and has certainly improved a lot under the command of that old grumpy Wegner ,but he is no second Boytsov and experience is a mighty factor in these kind of fights.
I for my part certainly favour Bidenko over Helenius!
True crossroad fight for Bidenko! He has to win this upcomming fight very badly.
I also think that Bidenko is a tougher n ut to crack than Brewster at this stage of his career.
That depends on what you're looking for. Bidenko is a solid skilled boxer but also feather-fisted. Brewster on the other hand isn't too great of a boxer, especially at this stage, but he has the punching power that could be the equaliser. Out of the two choosing Bidenko is definitely the wiser choice. Helenius is the Sauerland fighter on the Sauerland card so he is supposed to win this. Bidenko is the "opponent", so even if he is better, he has to win in very convincing fashion to get the decision and he won't stop Helenius unless Helenius is really china-chinned. A Brewster match-up is much more unpredicable because even if Brewster loses every minute of the fight, he can still turn things around with 1-2 punches. A knockout loss to Brewster would be much more damaging for Helenius' career than a decision loss to Bidenko which is rather unlikely.

Helenius will fight with Brewster on 5 December Sauerland show in Stuttgart, as well as Kubrat Pulev (who may face Bidenko or some other Top 50 fighter, if of corse beats his third opponent)

Truly spoken,nbt!
Brewster is a very wayward and unpredictable fighter at this stage of his career. You are also right in saying that ko loss would be far more damaging for Helenius' career than a point defeat at this hands of such a heralded fighter like Bidenko.
Good points,nbt!
This will be a tough fight for Pulev. It is so early in his career.

Just watch the fight. Very nice win for Kubrat. Without risks he took at all 3-4 punches for entire fight and clearly dominating in the entire match. Was very cool in the ring and it was like saying - give me some better guys. I want to see him directly against guys like John Ruiz or Liakhovich.
Props to Pulev for overcomming such a big obstacle in his third outing to the ring in the paid ranks!:good:good:good
Very well done! Olokoun, the Nigerian olympian and Brewster conqueror,is a damn fine scalp in Pulev's collection.
Bloody tough matchmaking! I very much hope that he will have some softer targets in front of his fists within the next 12 months. No need to rush him into murderous fights! He has proved that he is for real by beating such a experienced and capable operator like Olokoun in his third pro fight!

Yep, very nice jab. Very very sharp and accurate.
Strange guard the boy has...his arms are practically like he's about to hug his opponent. Whatever works I guess...as long as he's got good reflexes to compensate for that.
Quite impressive.

Not sure he's got the whole rolling off the shoulder thing down to a tee to compensate for that just yet  Ol' Mongoose was a crafty SOB in there.
I wonder if Pulev wouldn't be better just keeping things in the traditional Eastern style and keeping his gloves nearer his chin at all times. I havn't seen his first fights but I heard he got hit. He obviously likes to have a clear view of things and be reactive, which might be okay as an amateur when there are pillow gloves and the other guy is point scoring but we'll see how that works out for him as he progresses.
I think that this time Kubrat Pulev looked much better than in his first fight. I guess he made the right adjustments. He controlled the fight well from a distance.

Kubrat received several low blows during fight and maybe this inspires him to use th nasty illigal blow in the last round.
Something interesting from him - he said that he wasen't warm up very well, cos the previous fight was scheduled for 8 rounds and was expected to go full distance, but ended with first round KO. This was the reason he do not enter into the fight in the first two rounds and keeps quite defensive.
About his guard, one of his best qualities is that he has amazing feeling of distance and this helps him a lot. He is also very fast with legs for his 108-109 kg.
He also said that his next opponent on 5th December gala probably will be from USA.

Does Pulev have the intention to move to Berlin/Germany in order to train under the command of Sauerland's head coach Wegner as does Helenius?
ogii3

Kubrat is comming to Germany just few days before every fight (max a week time). Before that he is training under his old coach Mikhail Takov (who was coaching Tontcho Tontchev during times when he won European superfeatherweight title in 2001. Also he coached Kindelaki and some other fighters with Panix promotions/Fondu contracts).
I am not so sure if it will be a good idea to come to Wegner, who may want to change his style. Pulev is absolutly complete fighter with more then 250 high level amateur fights from light-heavyweights to Super Heavyweiths since 1999. Now he is very fresh in such 6 rounders, but it may be different when it comes to 8 or 10 rounders against opponents from Gbenga calubur. It may be needed more then just a month to prepare the tactics and condition.
About Helenius, i remember him, when he was amateur and was comming to Bulgaria to fight Strandja cup tournament. During this times he was coached by his father. Maybe it's the same now and just Wegner comming in the ring :)
I think that Kurat should spend more time in Germany. He should try to learn German as well. It is important that he speaks in German to media.
In regard of his Bulgarian coach, I think that at some stage Kubrat should change that. We do not have experienced pro boxing coaches. Those are different sports.

Sauerland gave to Kubrat Pulev Otto Ramin as a personal coach in Germany, but i am not sure if Kubrat has intentions to learn the language. He said in an interview that his girlfriend knows Deutsch and will be with him for the next fight. Valuev also do not know to speak well German and during pressconference he used translator (i was attending in just one, but think that he didn't improve a lot his language skills since last year).
Takov has big experience as professional coach. He worked as i said with Tontcho Tontchev during his enti career. Also was training with retired as unbeaten heavyweight Georgi Kandelaki. We may add that he spend a lot of time working in the Lennox Lewis college before it was closed in 98 or 99. During this time almost all of Panos Eliadies boxers trained thеre.

Ivo is right,ogii!
Pulev has to learn German in order to enhance his financial markebility and to collect big paychecks.
Valuev is a mutant-no need for him to pick up the language of his host nation.
Pulev is a smart fighter. I very much hope that he is also a smart businessman.
He has to learn either German or English to make some big bucks in the paid ranks.
I also agree with Ivo in as far as he has to move over to Germany at one point of his career.
The Germans have quite a handful of experienced pro trainer who k now the ropes and who can teach an old dog some new tricks.
As much as I like Bulgaria and the Bulgarians( I met some very likeable guys from Bulgaria when I was in Spain some weeks ago) your native soil is not the place to be in order to be successful in the paid ranks of pro boxing:-(

Odo, nice words for our country :) You must come for sure some day. And you are right that Bulgaria is not the best place to develop yourself as a pro boxer, regarding lack of promotors and boxing shows.
But you missed some points. Kubrat Pulev is not the guy who will start to learn German language. I saw him, when he communicates very well with Doring in the hotel before and after the match just with some words in English.
Kubrat knows how to act in front of press and how to make noise around himself. I think his English and even with the help of translator he may present some positive mood during press conference and interviews. He also has amazing live story.
About coaches, i am still thinking that Bulgarian coaches are far better then Germans, not only in amateur. Yes, you are right that Wegner has great experience leading his guys, but in order of preparation, game plan etc, some of Bulgarian trainers are on very high level, just they do not have a chance to work, because we don't have promotions.

I dont know,ogii!
Pro fighting and amateur fighting are close relative, but they are still two different pairs of shoes,so to speak.
A good example: Alexander Zimin. He was a highly decorated and heralded amateur coach back then in the old soviet union and later in Russia.
A great trainer-I am sorry to say this ,but there is no Bulgarian amateur coach who can hold a candle to Zimin nor are they that many coaches out there who can.
But......................did you watch him when he was in Valuev's corner during the Haye fight?
No plan B,no strategy. He advised his boy to use his jab when he was losing the fight and needed a ko to win that fight( okay, the official scorecards were close, but no way would any judge have scored that fight a draw outside Germany).
Instead of advising him to play it rough, corner Haye and wrestle him down putting his weight on the Brit's shoulder,Zimin continued telling his boy that he should use his jab more often.
Zimin's lack of experience in the pro circus was obvious.
The German or German based top trainers know the ropes, ogii!
As for Pulev's language skills he has to speak either German or English quite well to be able to earn big bucks in the German or western market, ogii.Thats the way it works here!
I am absolutely positive that Pulev will pick up German quite quickly if he knows that the command of that language can fill his pockets with decent sums of money:D
As for Bulgaria, I have already been there.Sorrowly, just a few days.
However,I ve met so many nice and likeable Bulgarians outside Bulgaria( and chicks,too:D)-especially in Spain,Germany, and the Czech Republic.

Zack Page isn't bad. Solid gatekeeper, and he's knocked off a few prospects on the way up (including knocking out Kasim Howard not too long ago, who some had touted as a possible big thing). He won a wide decision over Cisse Salif not too long ago if that gives people a decent idea of where he is. He likes to grab a lot, he doesn't have a great workrate, and he's on the small side, but he comes in to play the role of the spoiler and has a lot of tricks to disrupt a fighter's rhythm. I guess Sauerland must have really high hopes for this kid if they've put him in with someone like Page this early.

Yesterday night we painted the town red and had a splendid evening with lots of drinks and a lot of fun.

Just watch finally Pulev's match against Page. Not so good performance by Bulgarian. He agreed with this and said that Page was very fast and used a lot to clinch with head down.
Kubrat won clearly just 6 round, lost 3rd by little and in the others he had small dominance. Seems he may have problems with fast boxers (Pulev is also very fast for his 107-109 kg).
THis fight must be a clear sign for him that every fighter is different and he must prepare himself for the style of his opponent. I am pretty sure he didn't train for such a fast boxer as Page.
I think Platov was the perfect match, because Ukrainian is slower then Pulev. In the last three years Platov had just 3 fights (i have a chance to diner with Oleg and the guys of his coaching team in Zurich last year, where he fought Jason Gavern and he said that have some injuries problems and this was the reason for not so much matches).
Interesting fact is that Platov's manager is Ivailo Gotzev, who wanted to have a Bulgarian fighter in his stable and wanted to sign Pulev, but Kubrat prefers Sauerland. Year ago there were comanagment between Ivailo and Sauerland. Don't know what is the current situation right now.

He doesnt seem to be very known in Bulgaria, does he?
You should have asked them: Do you know the boyfriend of Andrea, he is a HW boxer?:nut
I don't like the matchmaking, he is thrown way too early. If he gets beaten in his first 10 fights, Pulevs career may be over. Also I hope that Pulev will scrap the Bulgarian boxing stance and keep his hands up against Platov.
One question,ivo!
Yesterday night we painted the town red and had a splendid evening with lots of drinks and a lot of fun.
We met a group of Bulgarian people(2 pretty girls from Sofia, and a manager from Varna). Neither of them has ever heard of Pulev.
He doesnt seem to be very known in Bulgaria, does he?
I find it strange because Pulev's girlfriend is kind of Bulgarian celebrity. I would not be surprised if they did not know him only because of boxing. Boxing is not popular in Bulgaria. I guess in general Bulgarians know Pulev because he is part of the night life. The fact is that Pulev's last 2 fights were not shown on Bulgarian TV.

Just hope it won't be Yoan Pablo Hernandez all over again for Sauerland and Pulev.
Still I love it. Much better than Universum and if he manages to pull it off, then the world is his :)

I couldnt remember the name of Pulev's girlfriend, ivo.
I told them that Pulev's babe is a well known Bulgarian singer.Nevertheless, they didnt know Pulev nor were they able to guess who he was.
Well,if he keeps winning his fights and keeps fighting one well known and recognisable name after another he will soon become Bulgaria's best known sportsman:D
I will take off my hat to him if his fight with Platov comes off and Pulev is victorious!:good:good:good
PS: I still think that this kind of matchmaking is pure madness and quite stupid!

I guess Skelton isn't in a very good condition right now, because of his 3 losses in the last 4 matches. Maybe Platov is still a "big spoon for his mouth", and this is the right way for him to grow and to gather experience.

Personally, I think his power is good. He sets up his shots nicely and is very accurate.
His right hand is sharp, and his left hook is very sneaky. His jab is awkward too. Kinda just keeps it out there in your face, then when you try to hit him here comes the hook right combo.
So altogether to answer your question, he isnt the biggest hitter but will knock some good fighters out.
I would put his power on par with Helenius.:thumbsup
Skelton had his good fights in 2008 against Chagaev and Vidoz. However, the fight with Rogie in 2009 was the beginning of the end, I believe. Rogie broke his spirit. Skelton looked very disinterested in his last fight with Pianeta. He was there for the paycheck only.
So, I am disappointed with the last developments. I think that Platov would have been a better test for Pulev since he is still hungry contrary to Skelton. I do not expect much of Skelton even though he is very experienced. I guess Skelton will show up for another paycheck.
Pulev should stop Skelton if he wants to make a statement. People will compare his performance with the one Pianeta put a few months ago.

Pulev is favorit in the bookies - Bet-at-home gives him 1,23 for win, Skelton is 4.00 and the draw 25.00.
On the weight in Pulev 109,5 kg, Matt - 115. Their match will be third in the card and is not included in ARD live transmition. It's very possible to be showed on delay if the main event finished earlier. However we have also Helenius- Brewster and Murat's 12 rounder. The Germans (resp. ARD) will also have better interest in Gerber - Dettweiler local derby.
If everythink will be ok for Pulev, his next match will be on 13 March at "Max Schmeling hall" in Berlin with headliners there - Marco Huck defense and warm up fight for Povetkin

It is a very good win for Pulev. He had some time in the first time. Afterwards, he was in complete control. Very nice left to the body. I guess some of my thoughts about Skelton's current condition were correct. Yet, it is very impressive.

Welcome to the board Mr. Welliver. The thing about Pulev, is he's a lot longer and taller than Chagaev's, Povetkin's, and Ibragimov's who made their mark. While I do not think Pulev hits as hard or takes as good as a punch as these three, I do think he is the hardest man to out point in a boxing sense of the bunch.

Sauerland events has another big gala on 13 March and he probably will be there as well. That means 2 matches in 6 weeks for him.

Yes, I am joking but I am also pissed that Bulgarian TV channels do not broadcast Pulev fights (with a small exception of his debut and the second fight as far as I remember). I can easily watch his fights without our TV channels but it is hard and even impossible for the regular sports fan in Bulgaria. Thus boxing loses popularity in Bulgaria.

I just saw the fight. Was a one punch - upercut to the chin. Batchelder's legs couldn't resist and went down. He stand up before 10, but didn't look in condititon to continue the fight. The American started in very fast tempo and was working well in the first, but seems to get respected after some of Kubrat's shots.
Pulev put up some weights to his body. During his amateur days he was 4-5 kg lighter.

Pulev has progressed very nicely. At 6'4.5" and 240lbs he has the height and size to contend with any heavyweight. He is very skilled with a great punch selection, and has better power than originally thought. I really hope he can move himself towards a title shot by 29 or 30, because he seems to have enormous potential.
Any news in regard of his next fight?

I’ve just finished watching the Kubrat Pulev vs. Evegeny Orlov fight. It was not a walk in the park for Pulev. He fought a very awkward opponent. Orlov is a tall fighter even though he is kind of soft. I have watched selected rounds of his fight with Pianeta. It went in a similar way.

Gotzev likes to work with some fighters from former Soviet Union. His first big sign was Vasily Jirov back in 96, he worked also with Steve Johnston during this time and Li'l but bad was the first world champ of Gotzev's stable.
Gotzev sign a managerial deal around mid 2008 with Oleg Platov. During this time Platov still had some months with his contract with Sauerland. Maybe the last mach of Oleg under managerial contract with Sauerland was on the undercard of Valuev-Holy in December 2008 in Zurich. After that i think his contract was over and he fought just once in Germani in the middle of 2009. Some injuries cost a lot to Platov and this is the reason that he didn;t went to USA, where Gotzev is based.
Right now Ivailo Gotzev moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, where he build entierly new gym. One of his coaches is Hasim Rahman's brother - Ibn. Among some of his fighters are Ismail Syllah, who made great impact in his last fight stopping impressivly Daniel Judah and challenging Bernard Hopkins right after.
His old guys Sam Peter and Vasily Jirov also are with him. Gotzev sign a contract with Shannon Briggs. I am not sure if Liakhovich's contract is still valid, but i think their cooperation is over.
About working only with USA bassed fighters, Gotzev as all the others boxing managers are always seraching for a class. One of his laters signs are great Kazah fighter and former amateur star Genady Golovkin, who developed himself under Universum as a pro fighter. I saw Golovkin month ago in Las Vegas and right now he is based there.
Considering Pulev, there were talks sinse last few years. Gotzev was in Milano for world championships to deal with Kubrat, but as all we know the Bulgarian choose another direction.
About Orlov's fight, the Russian is very tough to fight with. Knows to use his size very well. Pulev was far away from his best, but it's not easy to adjust every week your game plan to a different fighter with so much changes of the plan. The best think IMO from Orlov's fight is the first bloud that Pulev dropped in pro ranks. The cut is part of the game.

Kubrat started slow in the first couple of rounds as usual, but after the 4th when he was pushed down from Orlov, he started in different way, and in the 5th and 6th rounds he managed to threw some good combinations, but Orlov ruined his game with clinches and unallowded prioms.

Kubrat fought like amateur. He needs to change his trainer Mihail Takov immediately and to start with another trainer in Germnany. If he fights the same way with Platov , Platov will KO him for sure. This was his 8th fight and his style is absolutely the same as in his first fight.

Pulev basic style is fine. This is only his 8th pro fight. He will show some technical imporvement. I think Pulev better watch his weight. He would be better off in the mid 230's. At least I think so.

Helenius is not that slow. He is faster than say Valuev who was in the top ten, and in my opinion hits much harder than Valuev does.
I have yet to see fighters easily move out of the way of Helnius punches. With his size, accuracy, and power, Helenius is a top level prospect.
While neither Pulev, Boystov or Helenius is as good as say Klitschko, somebody has to be champ when they eventually retire.
I would also add Glaskov in the conversation as one to watch.

With his wins over Gammer, Bidenko, Brewster, Olukun and Greg Tony, he is on the cup of being on the top ten already.
AS for his speed, he is certainly no slower than Valuev or Peter, and a great deal more talented and powerul than either.

I am worried about the lack of interest in general public in Bulgaria about Pulev's career. He needs a fan base.

I told Dominick to keep an eye open for the crazy shit and not to stand for it.. round changin from 8 to 6.. and times etc being changed at last minute.. just Germany's way of making overseas feel a little un nerved... We signed for a 8 rounder against Sasha Povetkin and we were forced against the wall at last minute by HBO to box 6 because Povetkin only wanted 6 originally.. Pulev doesn't like pressure and when things dont go well in his favour he may crumble against Guinn. Guinn was a disappointment - if don´t try to win a fight why fight at all.

Agree with you,
Guinn came just to take the money, Pulev don't needs such opponents, cos they do not give noting for the development of the Bulgarian. Kubrat played smartly, initiated some attacks, but found no sense in throwing all out for a stoppage.

That guy blasted out Bergeron not too long ago and then put on such a no show performance. I thought he´d be a decent test for Pulev but he only came to add his name to Pulevs record after some public sparring session. Very disappointing. Pulev looked like hes quite open for counterpunching but since he took it easy it doesnt necessarily mean much. Hes still one of the better HW prospects in my book well if 30 year old goes through as a prospect..
Today heavyweights are at their peak in 30s so he is HW prospect. He is already 21 on boxrec ratings in only 9 fights and 1 year.
I was surprised that Guinn was so shy in his output. Every win adds something in my opinion. Guinn dismantled so easily Bergeron so it is like he suddenly lost his skills. Pulev just did not give him the chance to open up. He controlled the fight. Yet, I am worried about his weight because 112 kg is too high for him.

Its typical Guinn. He just forgets to throw punches.
According to a today's interview with Kubrat Pulev, his next opponent will be Oleg Platov. He confirms that the last time his people did not want a 10 rounder. He says he does not mind a 10 rounder now so it could be done. He thinks that his brother Tervel will sign with Sauerland sooner or later. He regrets that he did not turn pro earlier.

Love this guy.
After Vidoz this month, he's already got a TBA lined up for January!
And my compliments to his lovely girlfriend.

Pulev appears at Sauerland events, but is he a Sauerland fighter?
Looking forward to seeing Pulev in action again tomorrow.

He is under contract with Sauerland, yes. Until 2014, if I'm not wrong

Pulev looked a bit lazy and un-passionate in his 10th pro debut fight last night.
Pulev is fighting like in amateurs - just doing what needs to be done in order to get the points. This isn't too entertaining. I'd like to see him take on Chisora for example.

Pulev has a good career ahead of him.

The next opponent
22 January on Cunningam/Licina card
Yaroslav Zavorotnyy 14(12)-5(2)
Seems Sauerland wants to keep Pulev active in order to find some quality opponent to fight with for some title. Why not for EBU title in March/April if Dimitrenko got stripted
