[Only registered and activated users can see links] At 5 7 1/2in , and really only a big middle weight he beat such men as.

Gunboat Smith x3
Al McCoy
Bob Moha ,numerous times
Jim Flynn x3
Battling Levinsky x6
Billy Miske
George Chip x7
Tom Cowler
Porky Flynn x2
Al Norton x2
Charley Weinert x2
Frank Mantell x4
Frank Klaus x2
Hugo Kelly
Jack Twin Sullivan
Mike twin Sullivan
Eddie McGoorty.

In 252 fights he was stopped only twice.Once due to a lanced boil on his arm.
He amassed 181 wins , and lost just 28 times .fighting many heavyweights along the way.

How many of you included him in your top ten Light Heavyweights ?

Recognized him from a Ring Magazine feature on "the greatest lightheavyweights"..I think he was placed at 6 or 7.

Gibbons qualifies undoubtedly, though to be fair to Dillon ,I think he was on the downslide when he met the clever Gibbons.

I'm pretty sure Dillon is universally considered an ATG light-heavyweight.

The original giant-killer, wasn't he? The first man to carry that nickname?

Dillon was one of the great light-heavyweights. I think he gets a decent amount of recognition from boxing historians.

He has about 250 recorded fights and about half of those were actually No Decisions.

I probably left him off my top 10 last time I did one, but he's certainly interchangeable with most the guys who get in.

Since there is no footage of him then you don't know much about this person do you? You just name the names of people he fought, what does that prove? Every person has a name. You could name the people Tye Fields fought but does that prove something? Unless you have footage of a person boxing then you don't know how good they are.

When you name the names of fighters Harry Greb beat with only one eye all of whom exist on film what do you think it proves??
