I will start my training log.

In May I was around 185, I came home from college this summer and gained 15 pounds from being inactive and eating crappy food.

I was somewhere just over 200. I am at like 198 now.

I dont have a gym membership anymore but I got my bike fixed and we got a treadmill indoors.

I biked on Sunday 15 miles, Wednesday 10 miles and Friday 12 miles (today)

Good. You'll find an online training log to be an excellent motivator. We'll be watching you :)

Cheers. I havent rode my bike since I was like 13. We were able to get new tubes and tires for $30 and I got the little computer to measure distances and speed for $10. Its a 1 speed beach cruiser style from the 80s, in good condition besides the back rim which is bent and has a wobble.

Pinellas county has a made a real nice biking/running trail out of old railroad right of ways. Its got pedestrian bridges over busy roads and even a bridge over salt water. It passes near some parks with water fountains and rest rooms.

Certainly more motivating than a stationary bike indoors.

The uphill parts of the pedestrian bridges really kick my ass, especially on the way back and with no gears:lol:

Stationary bikes are awful, I don't know how anyone can cope with that. I drove a single speed bike for a while, it made my legs much thicker but it sucked the life out of me. I cycle at least 12 and up to 30 miles daily even on workout days (I live 6.2 miles from the gym) so I'm glad I have a bike with gears again. Doucheland is completely flat so the wind is really fucked up.

Saturday I did 10 miles. So I did 49.49 miles total the first week according to my odometer.

Yesterday (sunday) I did 12 miles and got caught in a thunderstorm on the way back. I think that makes me officially a hard core cyclist now.

Saturday I felt really strong and wanted to do more but I had to come back because of the rain clouds. Sunday I was tired and slow at the start but forced to haul ass on the way back through the rain. Today I am probably going to rest my legs.

I was 197 this morning. I havent been riding the last 3 days because its been raining every evening when I had set the time aside for it.

I will get a good one in tomorrow morning though.

I didnt bike this morning, I was distracted doing other things. I almost didnt do any exercise but I got in some treadmill time before I cut the grass, I did 0.75, 0.5, 0.5 miles or 1.75 miles total running. I keep track of it that way because the inbetweens are at speed 3 and are for resting or warmup/cool down.

It is pretty good for me for not having done it in a long time.

I did about 12 miles yesterday (saturday). My odometer is 73.2 miles now, so that is 23.71 miles for week 2 plus 1.75 miles of running.

I am biking today and hope to get it some good distance.

Oh and I did 30 pushups at the park on their little easy push up bar (just a metal bar running parallel to the ground, puts you at in incline and keeps your hands from getting muddy). Its funny how when you set a record, like 50 at a time in highschool when you weighed 35 pounds less that is mentally your number and you dont realize how out of shape youve gotten until you try it again

I did 19 miles yesterday, my most so far. Today I am resting and tomorrow will either bike or run.

My rear rim, which has been bent, is completely fucked now, 3 spokes are out. So we are gonna either get a new rim with all new spokes or maybe a new bike entirely if rims are too expensive.

Ive been busy with some house work and other shit. Also I had that two week gym membership so I focused on strength training for a bit.

Monday - 13.5 miles

elTerrible
10-30-2009, 11:49 PM
Sunday - 16.4
Monday - 13.5
Tuesday - 12
Wednesday - 0
Thursday - 0
Friday - 12.8 miles

I broke another spoke. I just put more air in my tires today and I think last time the spokes broke I just put air in them. I brought it up from 40 psi to 65psi and normally I kept it at 55 psi. I think too high and the tires are more stiff and it is transferring more forces through the spokes?:huh though they should be the same if my weight is the same.

Anyways atleast the rim isnt bent this time, I need to get it fixed and I wont go past 55 from now on and see if that prevents broken spokes.

Im taking my fitness test for the navy in a month. Ive got to do 1.5 miles in 12 minutes and 53 seconds minimum, and 44 push ups minimum but Id like to get those higher. 54 curl ups as well which I havent tested and no idea how many I can do. Im used to doing leg raises and incline situps.

For my height I have to be 196 lbs max. I put 195 on my application but I am about 198 when I first wake up and really want to be about 190-192 so I can weigh under 196 with clothes on in case the guy weighs me at my fitness test.
