when throwing a double straight right do you turn your foot both time or only the last one?
Why would you throw a double straight right?

some famous boxer did it.

it worked well for Naseem Hamed

Naseem is never a good example to copy something from, he was a very unorthodox fighter and had some extreme physical gifts that gave him the right be this way. He's the kind of boxer that has ''don't try this at home'' written on his forehead.

I'd say both, unless you're kind of feinting the first one..

Yeah both but you don't pivot as much as you would for a single one so you get back to position quickly to throw it again.

Naseem was a southpaw - are you sure his double straight right wasn't just a double jab?

fail thread.
kinda funny that with such a great wealth of information in this training section it took 3 years for some one to realize that hes just doubling up the jab.....

He wasnt a southpaw, He switched, and is right handed. All His best work came from the right side, both ways.

Hamed was a southpaw , yes he switch hit, but he was naturally a southpaw. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.

LOL I'm sorry but that is pretty difficult for you to verify. I'm not debating that he was right handed, I have no idea one way or the other, but according to watching his fights, which many here can attest to, and the online sources I posted, Naseem is a southpaw.
It is no different to Joe Frazier fighting orthodox, while reportedly being left handed.

He switched, watch His fights when He went southpaw it was to stop the other guy from working and to tempt Him. When he switched thats when usually He went to work, and capitiliesd on the other guys frustration. Thats why Barrera stood of while He was southpaw and waited. Soon as he switched Barrera was on Him, Most of Brendans lads are switch hitters.

Yeah, and alot of Tyson's knockouts came from left hooks. It doesn't prove anything. Neither does Scrap's apparent prestige.
Whatever Scrap says, until he finds a way to prove Naseem was not a southpaw, I will continue to go with the numerous online sources citing him as such.

Of course, but anyone can write anything anywhere in any official source. I would like to reiterate that I'm not outright calling scrap a liar, I'm saying that he has no way of proving his assertion, and in the light of that, which goes against what is considered common knowledge, I will not simply accept his word.

how about a straight right followed by an overhand right? pivot your back foot on the first and throw your body weight [on your lead foot] into the overhand right for the second...[push off your back foot instead of pivoting] just a suggestion...since the thread got gay all of the sudden

pivot twice, i like to step forward on the second one too. if you hit the guy with one, hes gonna be on the back foot so you'll need to close that distance anyway. also it allows you to move out of his vision by stepping through the punch so that your head and most of your upper body is well past his right shoulder.

Just watch him fight :huh What does it even matter? Naz was obviously a switch hitter. Most of the time he fought southpaw yeah, but he switched in pretty much every fight. He even stood square on at times.

He may have been a southpaw naturally (idk) but he did indeed switch-hit. What a stupid argument. I took 3 second to type his name into youtube and this is the first video that popped up.
