Went To see Steve Bunce last night at the Kersal Social club, what a great night, whilst teh turn out may not as been as great as hoped, those who made the journey were treated to a good night of boxing talk from the Big Fella, plus interviews with mathew hatton, Joe Murray , Macklin plus Bobby Joe Edwards, Steve was on great form and was quite happy to stay until teh sun came back up chatting about boxing and telling numerous funny tales.
What a great guy! Whilst Steve may not be everyones cup and tea boxing needs people like Steve on television who have a passion for the game, not afraid of voicing their opinion and are fun to watch, whilst some of lads on ITV are decent fellas has any done an interview like Steve had with B-Hop or some of his memorable rants?
Any of the guys out there who have fifteen quid to spare on a Tuesday night and want a good nights entertainment of boxing chat and a few laughs get yourself a ticket.
Well done Steve, great night

Bobby Joe Edwards... that's Eubank's cruiserweight cousin right? The one they put Calzaghe in with?

The night worked. A lot of boxers and boxing people let me down having promised to be there. Bobbi Joe, Matt Macklin, Joe Murray, Matt Hatton, Lee Beard, Ray Hatton and Steve Foster stepped up.
BobbiJoe talking about the second Eubank and Watson fight was brilliant, truly mesmerising.
London next week, a great little venue about 11 metres away from York Hall.
Adios.

Bobbi was a real nice guy and hearing him talk about the problems they had getting Eubank out of the ring at White Hart Line was interesting. I was at that fight, there was a real bad atmosphere all night which was fuelled further when 'the panto villan' Eubank turned it around, fighting erupted around Ringside, sadly this probably a contributing factor in getting Watson out of the ring and the medical attention he so badly needed.
macklin talked about why he has gone for a Eurpean bout instead of a domestic title fight , if he wins it puts him right up in world rankings and hopefully a title fight.
Mathew talked about his upcoming WBO fight and the problems with Zab Judah.
All in all a great night and I am sure for Steve things can only get better

Indeed it is. He took Calzaghe the distance.

I tried to get Shaun Cummins on the phone - he also fought for the European middleweight title in addition to his raw 12 rounds with the Viking - but I lacked the technology.
Adios.

Matts fighting for the IBO belt, whilst not a top belt its a big step for him in the right direction plus for the Hattons helps promote Brand Hatton.
Good luck Matt

Oh and credit for Matthew Hatton for being on the show. He gets a lot of flack on here (from me as well), but it seems he did a good job last night and helped towards the success of the show :good

We can't release the names of the guests for the shows but as have seen fronm the rehearsal show (Don Broadhurst, Joe Egan) and the first real show (Steve Foster, Matthew Macklin, Joe Murray, Matthew Hatton, Ray Hatton, Bobbie Joe Edwards) nobody has been disappointed. Kenny Anderson was also propping up the bar in Salford.
It's great to rub shoulders with these guys in an intimate venue.
London will be at Lee Hurst's FymFyg comedy club and will be fantastic.

How difficult are the questions? For example give one question from yesterdays show - Lets see if I would be confident enough to do it :p

Example question from Salford to Steve Foster..."He was known as the Viking, he came from Salford and he beat Chris Pyatt...what was his name?"

Must have been a tough one for him :p
Quite a coincidence that question, I had been watching and reading about Pyatt just yesterday - he packed quite a punch :yep
