Thats awesome. I am glad people are finally starting to appreciate his style. I wasn't sold at first either, but the more I saw of him the more impressed I became. I love the way he hunts down his opponents and is always in it for the KO. He doesn't clinch inside either, and is very exciting to watch. Very solid technical fighter.

I agree with what you are saying also about Hatton. I find him boring to watch. He is like a poor mans Jeff Fenech IMO. Fenech had absolute tenacity and would burrow his head into their chest but wouldn't make it a grapple fest like Hatton. Still, Hatton is good at making it work for him. Collazo did well on the inside by keeping a high guard, with his hands held tight so that Ricky couldn't tie him up. I think Cotto would do the same thing. If they ever fought I would be execting Cotto to box like he did against Abduleav (spelling) and use the ring and counter punch Hatton on the way in.

If anything Oscars performance against him showed me that he is not as unbeatable as people think. If an old pernell whitaker could almost beat a young and prime De La Hoya, a prime Mayweather really should have been more impressive on an old and largely inactive Oscar. I would love to see Mayweather take on Cotto. This match up needs to happen. First Cotto vs the winner of Williams and Marg, and then the winner of that to take on Floyd.

Certainly man... i dont think it's a whitewash or a shoe in at all.

I just need to see more of Marg (overall) to give a proper prediction. But from what I have seen, I think Cotto takes it. That's based on about 2 Marg fights, 3 or so Cotto fights and the names on their records.

So i'm no expert with this one. But people in the main forum get overzealous when talking about Marg. Like he's the only certainty to take PBF etc... like... where do they get that idea? He beat Clottey & Clintron... great, now go get Floyd!! ...just don't match up.

I love Aussie fighters too. But I also support good exciting fighters. Cotto IMO is the epitomy of this. Very humble and seems very likable also. Much better for boxing then Floyd Mayweather.

I disagree here. I believe that the Williams fight will be a good one, and i have picked WIlliams to win, but I don't think in any way this will provide any sort of indication as to how he will perform against Cotto.

Williams is a long volume punching southpaw, where as Cotto is a compact power punching orthadox fighter. They are nothing alike, and a victory against one will really not provide any sort of insight as to how a match with the other would turn out.

Very good comparison. I feel that Cotto is more well rounded as a boxer then Chavez, but on the same token Chavez was better at cutting off the ring and using his head movement to get inside. Sitll that said they are very alike in the ring, and both very exciting to watch. Prime Chavez was a beast. I love watching him just hunt down his opponents.

Fair enough. I can see very easily though if Marg beats Williams it will be "untested hype job" stuff from the haters. Although not from me, I will personally give him a tonne of credit. Williams can take a punch and is very tricky to fight. His punch out put and reach + southpaw stance would be tough for anyone.

Style wise, If you watch Williams against Maythse he stuggles when he got in on his chest. I don't know if Marg will be able to do this though as he doesn't have good head movement and is so tall also. Marg has had trouble with southpaws in the past (santos particularly) where he has looked decidedly ordinary. I think Williams has the tools to beat him. If Marg can adapt to get the win he will deserve all the credit in the world.

If Williams is to get the victory, Cotto would absolutely annihilate him no doubt in my mind. Cotto is all wrong for Williams. Hatton IMO would also give Williams hell, although Hatton too doesn't excel against southpaws. Basically anyway who has the ability to burrow inside will beat him, but against the right opponents he will be a nightmare. Williams needs to be carefully managed IMO, if he wants to do well in the division.

The word intelligently has no meaning in the mexican language. Its all about pride and ego lol. Marg did the same against Cintron. HE stood toe 2 toe with him. In that case he won although he ate some leather to get his own on. Cotto IMO is a vey patient and smart fighter in the ring and will capitalise on Margs mistakes. If any of you guys get a chance watch a young Cotto vs Cezar Bazan I would recommend it. Bazan is a tough mexican who fights a lot like Margarito. Beat Stevie Johnston to win the title and had been in there with top opposition. Cotto just punished him. SHort tight combinations on the taller opponent. It was brutal. Went 11 rounds but it was a very damaging fight for Bazan. And this was a green Miguel Cotto, who has improved since that time. If you watch the fight this is what I will be expecting if Cotto fights Marg. Cotto will brutalize him. Just remember you heard it here first.

I have been doing weights for the past 8 months while I have stopped boxing. I have put on size but not weight which is good. It hasn't effected my speed at all though. Its probably more in your mind then anything. How many days a week do you hit the weights?

I have been doing weights for the past 8 months while I have stopped boxing. I have put on size but not weight which is good. It hasn't effected my speed at all though. Its probably more in your mind then anything. How many days a week do you hit the weights?

Iv got stronger thats about all. Three times a weeks mate, got two mates who train with me.
Train free weights at my place, but gotta get a chin up bar going.

hmm im at 74 kgs right now. i might have to take the winner. ill try to get some sparring footage some time too.. but i oculdnt make the wba's top 15 if you get my drift.

Its all good mate I am hardly ready to take on the world. Its just good fun I reckon putting on the gloves and having a go. Makes you appreciate what you watch that much more.

I am hoping to join up a gym again in the next couple weeks once I move places.
