2 of the most spectacular fighters ever, who wins at 130 lbs and why?

Good matchup Luigi! It would be a crowd pleaser as both of these guys had HUGE fan bases. Gatti here in NEW JOISEY and Chacon on the west coast in southern california. At 130 Gatti used his boxing skills more. His victory over Patterson was a tactical victory. The Schoolboy's nemesis was Mexican great Ruben Olivares. He could not beat him until Olivares was past his prime. But Gatti is no Ruben Olivares - that's for sure. I would favor Chacon here. I think he was clearly a better fighter than Gatti. Chacon was ahead on points against Arguello until he got taken out. Gatti has never had success against an elite fighter. I consider a motivated Chacon to be close to an elite fighter.

Chacon UD 12 Gatti in a terrific, albeit one sided fight.

Good evaluation, but I know that Gatti is a bit underrated in the lower weights. In this weight class (SFW) his power was great, chin was very good and here, like you correctly wrote, he used more his skills. I would expect a pretty close and evenly fight...

Someone asked this of us quite a while ago, and it's one of my favorites.

I like Chacon by late stoppage. Just a better fighter all around when he was right. Both could box some, but both threw that out the window once they got hit solidly. This is one of those matchups that had no option other than to be exciting.

This would be an interesting fight. I don't see a KO or stoppage unless Gatti get's cut and it has to be stopped. Chacon seems to have a little to much for Gatti...So while Gatti has his moments Chacon in a clear (not easy) UD in the 116-112 neighborhood
