Anybody interested in the above, I think its an appitizer before Calzaghe and Kessler..... even though in my opinion I think Froch will cruise it.

I want to see Froch clear his final domestic opposition. If Froch loses every fight after Reid at least he can say I was the British and Commonwealth champ and I destroyed every challenger of my time.
This should be Frochs final fight before a Euro shot then title eliminator. I understand Bute and Inkin have not entertained the idea of fighting Froch so they can unify who the mandatory is. No problem.
Froch should really put some heavy shots on Reid. It could be painful.

Reid should have retired after the Lacey fight, at the very latest. He has been in decline for a few years now and I think the Froch fight is one he could do without.
I don't think Froch is doing himself any favours by fighting Reid. If he wins, so what? If he loses though, then his career plunges into the depths of obscurity.

Reid should have taken the Brinkley win as a nice way to go.

yep, it was evident he was shot. Reid has a great chin, I just hope he doesn't take too much punishment from Froch because of it.
Froch RSF 9.

Im just keeping my fingers crossed that Froch will come out with some cheeky remarks soon enough about Reid, & then it will all kick off in the build up:D Robin reid is a funny character cos he cannot take being insulted, & when you get a cheeky arrogant git like Froch who loves throwing verbals around, it should make for a fascinating pre-fight build up, just like the last time Reid faced a mouthy arrogant git, a certain Joe Calzaghe, & that build up was mental!
So come on Carl, do a Joe & tell Reid you are better looking than him, cos when Joe said that to Reid, Reid jumped out of his seat with rage, & the rest as they say is history:lol:

A year or so Ried was going out with a girl who lives near me (a model surprisingly!!) he got in a spot of bother with some blokes and instead of trying to defuse the situation he just went to the pub car park, got a pair of sparing mits out of the boot of his Range and knocked the KTFO the lot of them.
I'd guess he works on a fairly short fuse!!:D

No surprise, he is pretty well connected too. Knows some guys you do not want to cross.

I'd guess he works on a fairly short fuse!!:DShame he didn't see red against Lacey. If he did he might have made a fight of it and landed some good shots instead of simply thinking he did.

He should have got the nod against Otke though...

Gaz, I do believe Reid is now done. He does have a good chin but I think Froch hits unbelievably hard. His punches are sloppy and his sense of range and timing is weak. However Froch usually lands clean and he hurts em. Guys who went the distance i.e. Adamu and Barney get dropped and hurt, despite surviving.
Froch can punch.

Yes and I personally clear Reid's chin as iron, which as you know, means quite a bit.:yep

Hello bongsbomber and welcome to ESB! :good
I think this will be an easy mandatory defence for Froch 'The Cobra'
as Reid is past his sell by date now.
The last I saw of him was representing the UK on Sport Networks Contender Show!

Reid never came across as the short-fused aggressive type to me. I remember that comment well and it was quite a witty quip from Calzaghe. Though, to be honest, the chance of being able to repeat it with a straight face when you look like Froch is kinda low I would have thought!

Stoppage by early to mid rounds, nothing more than a post-op return for 'The Adder'. Let's hope he gets some more significant fights after this.

Mismatch. Reid will get hurt

Exactly :good and it will proof nothing to Froch !
This fight has been moved.
Carl Froch will now make the fourth defence of his Title against Robin Reid on 9th November and not the 2nd.
It has been moved back a week to allow WBC No.1 Froch to know the winner of the Calzaghe v Kessler fight on 3rd November.
SkySports will still televise the bout.
