I think this fight won't even be close. Kelly Pavlik will win by wide UD or will stop Taylor around the 7th or 8th. I am throwing some $$$ on this one for sure. :good

That is what i'm hoping. I'm saying Pavlik ko 7. Easy though? Taylor is one tough mo-fo.

why do you say easily. I personally hope he wins and think he can if the fight stays on the inside. But Kelly is not hard to find these days. In fact JT should be able to land some very nice rights to Kelly and this could end up being a brutal fight both ways, but i just don't see easy for either fighter

This is a 50/50 fight which can go bothways but it's not gonna be easy for both. You honestly believe that Pav can do better than Bhops; Winky or Spinks?:rofl

:good Thats a good, positive outlook. I'm thinking more like round 9 or 10. As long a KP can take JT's bursts of offense, when he decides to work, eventually Kelly will catch him & when he see's he's got his man hurt, he don't mess around. He finishes.
Lets all keep the positive energy flowing.:D

That's right buddy . . . "BRUTAL" is the right word not "EASILY". :yep

If Taylor fights Pavlik like he fought Winky, I dunno how Pavlik is going to win. His come-forward style almost seems tailor made for... Taylor, but who knows?

Why dont people understand that... Pavlik is such a hype job, and Taylor will prolly win this fight, with the least effort possible.. So if Pavlik brings the fight to Taylor, Taylor will just have to win impressivley instead of just gliding by..:dead

Taylor will win by tko due to cuts or by wide UD.
Jermaine has fought some very difficult opponents stylewise like Ouma and Spinks but agains a straight-forward fighter like Pavlik we will see the best of him.For a man who beat Hopkins twice Jermaine is still massively underrated.
He has balls of steel and keeps winning so i hope one day he will earn the respect he deserves.

Just remember gents, I am the ONE that said it. WHEN IT HAPPENS, I will be the ONE gloating. Yes, I will. :good
IF I am wrong, I will be the ONE to come right here and admit I was wrong. But I'm telling you guys, I have seen both guys 4 times and I am absolutely certain that Pavlik is going to not only beat Taylor, he is going to do so in convincing fashion. There will be a TON of people shocked at how easily he does it. Trust me.

I have stated my reasons as to why Pavlik will win in other threads and as the fight nears, I will post them again.

Winky puts his hands infront of his face so when he gets hit, it's like he's punching himself in the face.
so Taylor has enough power to bust up his eye through TWO padded middleweight gloves. . . good point.

Yeah right . . . and where does the power came from? From Winky's gloves itself? :D

I will say this ==> Could anyone possibly imagine Pavlik barely squeaking a win against a feather fisted ww? nope not a chance he would have Knocked Corey the fuck out. i think Germaine has lost it and this would definently be a good fight to bet on. Plus there is a really good chance that Germaine comes in wieght drain as shit.
Pavlik by KO or retirement

No dounbt, JT fought a dumb fight against the defensive Spinks. . . but this is a FAR different style matchup .. . Pavlik fits JT's style much more.

I'll say it AGAIN. Pavlik will win EASILY. I know it's hard to believe folks, but Taylor is vastly overrated and Pavlik's power and accuracy will be too much.
Next weekend, we will have a new champion folks. :good

Ouma obviously didn't fit JT's style well with his pressure, why would it be any different with a bigger and more skilled example?
Really doubt this will be easy for either fighter, both are tough and powerful it just can't be easy for any. I can understand when some say PBF/Hatton will be one-sided in favor of Floyd(even though I disagree) but not this one. As the fight gets close I'm getting quite nervous to be honest even when I remember Ouma and Spinks backing Taylor up at some points, if he backs up likes that against Pavlik then yes it could be one-sided because Pavlik won't throw feathers at Taylor like Spinks/Ouma did, he will throw bombs that Taylor will feel each and every one of. If Taylor uses the backing off style(sadly, I see him doing this 100%) then it's going to be a brutal night for him, if he uses a better style, moves/jabs..etc then he wins. If relying on one big punch didn't work against Ouma or Spinks then there is no way in fucking hell it will work against Pavlik, really hope Taylor doesn't come careless and perform poorly like he has been doing a lot recently.

Tougher mental strength?
Taylor falls apart under pressure and cannot buckle down at the right moments, how does he have tougher mental strength to Pavlik? Pavlik never relents from his game plan and it's hard to get Taylor to even keep one going.

Easy??
Hey, I'm rooting for Pavlik, just as I rooted for Hoplins twice and Wright.
After that, EASY????????
:nono
Taylor's 1, 2, shuffleback will make this a difficult event and Pavlik will have to bring it consistently and pour it on late if he's to break through and TAKE THE W!!!
I hope that happens, but I've come to respect Taylor's ability rather than shit on it because I dont want him to win.
Ouma?? He nearlt fucking decapitated the man, til he punched himself out and even then clearly won.
Spinks?? STFU, if you even begin to think Cory won:nono You dont win by dancing like the stars in reverse:-(
This fight?? Wont be anything like any of them!!! Pavlik will press, Taylor defend, and we'll see who breaks who down!!!
GO PAVLIK!!!!! But I wont down Taylor, I've learned from my mistakes:good

He's talking pure rubbish, Taylor's mental strength is very suspect, Pavlik's never even shown an ounce of mental strength issue's.

Can't really fire back there, we'll find out if he completely falls apart under pressure since Pavlik will be totally affective with his pressure and power to back it. If Spinks/Ouma were able to back up Taylor with feather dusters then this will be dangerous. I'm still picking Taylor though despite all the negatives.

Yes, because you're a Taylor fan, not a 'Taylor apologist'. There is quite a difference and the Taylor apologists' heads are MINE come the end result.
This is an easy fight to pick and I am being impartial.

Stil have faith in JT to be honest, I'm sure he can put on a serious dangerous performance and prove that he took the last 2 fights lightly. If he loses because he fights the same way he did in his last two fights then forget any improvements.

Pavlik is so over-rated for his performance against Miranda.
I bring your attention to the fact that Miranda couldn't close out against a guy with a BROKEN FREAKING JAW and what's more, was being rocked and sat on his heals by Arthur Abraham during the fight despite Abraham having the broken jaw.
Pavlik is a sloppy puncher with a decent one two, he however does not have the same level of one two as Taylor, nor the head movement, nor the combination punching, nor the evolved defence, nor the wars to call on for experience.
I don't see this as being a close fight, whilst I think Pavlik has enough of a chin that he won't be KO'ed - it wouldn't surprise me.
Taylor's jab will be the dominating factor, combined with his tougher mental strength and experience where it counts - in championship level matches.
Sorry but this post is full of shit. You are dissing Miranda because he couldn't put away Abraham yet he broke the guys jaw and had him backing up constantly. Miranda wasn't just fighting Abraham he was fighting the German officials too. He also knocked Howard Eastman out (which Hopkins and his oh so high experience couldn't do), and steamrolled everyone else until he ran into Pavlik.
Pavlik is also not a sloppy 1-2 puncher. I don't think you've seen very much of the guy. He does show defensive responsibility where it matters. It just so happens that with a guy like Miranda you don't go defensive. That's what he wants.
Pavlik was trained in the Cus style. He doesn't bob and weave, but he does often keep his hands very high to deflect jabs. No doubt in my mind he will have his gloves high to deflect Taylor's jab. And Taylor's defense is not going to help him. The way he holds his left so low he's gonna be eating jabs all night.
Watch his fight with Ross Thompson on youtube. Thompson has a defensive style which is like James Toney. That is a style which is very hard to land on. What did Pavlik do? After the first round he got on his jab, and landed the jab with the right hand to the body. Sometimes adding the lead left hook to try and catch Thompson going into the bend. Which essentially is the best gameplan against that defensive style.
Then watch his fight with Miranda. It's a completely different approach. No jab, because he didn't want too much distance. And a majority of straight right hands (which is the best punch against a wide power puncher like Miranda).
The guy is well schooled, and he seemingly can adapt MUCH better than the champion can. Manny Stewart was yelling at Taylor in his recent fights to do something, anything that would work.
I'm not saying Taylor can't win. I'm just saying all this talk about Taylor being the better technician, having power, having chin, is all nonsense talk. He may win, but he's gonna have to rely on his big heart to pull it off. It won't be easy.
