Unfortunately, don't know, but Matthew Saad Muhammad was in reform school with him, he mentioned this in an interview.

I'm pretty certain if you go on youtube there is the pre-fight from Saad vs Braxton where there is a brief interview with Qawi. Seeing as they are 'hyping' him and giving him some background, I think they may mention it there.

That is amazing...I have never heard that before. Where did you see this interview? I would like to read it.
