"Well as you know I’m on a bit of a break at the moment but I’ve done the next best thing in bringing my promotional company and the SKY tv cameras. I’ve also secured a world title fight for my brother Matthew who will top the bill."
makes me sick.

Something's telling me already that Hatton is going to be a pathetic promoter.

Hasn't he already said he will go similar to the ****** route of promoting?

Matthew Hatton is only were he is today, due to being ricky hatton's brother. FACT!
It makes me sick with him getting all these great chances, and then there is fighters like Choi Tseveenpurev who cant get a break what so ever and is so much better than matthew, who was wipe washed by craig watson only a year ago!

I don't think anyone else views the IBO as a world title apart from the IBO.... and Ricky Hatton.

Why on earth would a promoter not talk up his own show. He's not going to sell many tickets saying "It's a second rate belt and everyone knows it..."
Exactly, he's trying to help his brother out. At least it isn't the WBU, you know?

Well there is a difference between IBO and WBU, some of the IBO champs are best in the division, WBU champs never are. And Sky will promote it as it is the same organisation they promoted for the Hatton-Pac fight etc.

I don't know about just awarding it, Pac seemed to earn it knocking Hatton's fucking head clean off!!

What's the bets Macklin fights for an IBO title next? Can Brodie still make feather? If so might as well give him a shot for that vacant title as well. Then Hatton could put on three 'world championship' fights. Four when Manny relinquishes his light welter IBO and Hatton snr fights for it. Thats four of his 8 fight nights sorted.
Is a joke and very bad for boxing.

Interesting comments all.
What I am curious about is what do the forum posters actually think of the fight itself.
Putting the title aside, is it a good fight for Hatton and can he beat Ndou?
Doubtful we'll get to watch it here in Australia, but Lovemore has always been a favourite of mine.
He's not getting any younger but still retains plenty of skills and will make for a tough night out for any opponant.
Looking forward to comments about the fight, not concerned about the title.
To be fair Hatton has 8 shows all have to be at brit level for Sky to show them. Macklin at Euro was one. Matthew Hatton at IBO level will be another. Who else has he got... If he fucks Matthew or Macklin over he will be tied to Sky until he gets another domestic talent or develops his stable (off air). He is just looking out for his business. If Matthew loses to N'Dou he can fall back on a brit title shot. If he fought Brook right away he loses one of his main fighters and will have to build him up again.

I'm looking forward to it I have a soft spot for N'Dou and always enjoy his fights. I think he will out work Hatton to be honest and win a wide UD

What do you mean? Talk about the actual boxing rather than bang on and on about the trivial details surrounding it?
What a dumb idea......;)

Fighters who are clearly not good enough for the domestic belts go the WBU and IBO route.

IBO is below british title level. How can Matthew Hatton fall back to a level he is below after a loss???

If you take away the BS belt, it IS a fairly interesting fight. I think N'Dou will have too much for Hatton and run out a fairly convincing points winner.
Rob, while your concern for the people of Stoke is heart warming and I'm sure genuine, more cynicial ESB members than myself might think you were just using them in order to have a another little moan rather than really being too worried about them getting 'conned'......
I say this on the beeps website. Makes me angry when promoters try to con the public. This isn't a world title fight and Hatton will lost a lot of fans for trying to pass it off as one.

In my opinion the IBO is below it as well. If he fought Kell Brook instead and gets beat he is right down the order behind Lomax. If he gets beat by N'Dou he still has a good ranking and a loss to someone above Brit level. In my opinion it makes sense plus its a decent fight.

Yep, the PPV numbers of the rumoured Hatton-JMM fight will take a massive hit when this news gets out to the mainstream.
