Where has this guy been?
A black belt in Judo he is 42-5 as a pro boxer and 5-0 in MMA. It seems to me that he is probably THE crossover athlete who could contend in MMA.
He boxed as a heavyweight and then came back to a more natural weight of 200 lbs. I think he is around 35 years old.

I really wanted to see where he could go. He had the striking and mixed with judo I thought he could have been formidable. Mix in a bit of wrestling, bjj and muay thai and could be quite complete.

Williams at 205 would have got me real interested.

I was very disappointed with the way he fizzled out in his MMA run. He must know something that we don't know. I don't think that he felt he really had a shot, or he would have taken it.

He has decent all around skills.

Good all rounder. How great was it to see a guy be able to box nicely but lock in a fucking triangle when on his back.

That video shows why MMA should always be in a cage and not a ring!

He looked not-so-great in a boxing-ring comeback two years ago, toughing out an SD win over Cruiserweight journeyman Gary Gomez.

Apparently he's had one MMA fight since then, a 1st round TKO over a guy with a losing record...and face tats.

When this is what your best accomplishment in years looks like, I can see how Half Retired may seem an appealing state.

Everyone he fought in mma had a horrible record. It looked like he was never too confidant in his skills.

A couple of people are talking against his confidence etc What is that being based on? He made the transition and beat 5 average fighters. I don't know anyone who would do it differently. He beat them all comfortably so I think the question is why didn't he step up in class.

I haven't watched any of second series yet but, if I recall correctly, Williams was the MMA trainer for the bullies in every episode of season one.

Actually, thinking about it, I have seen the second season episode where Arlovski destroys the guy. I can't remember if Williams was in that or not.

he was suppose to fight rick Rufus months ago, but Rufus pulled out on injury. So i don't think he quit mma entirely. But i doubt he will ever break out of the smaller shows. He fights as he trains other fighters for a steady pay check.
