No...they are editing the fights, just much less than in the past. And for the ull fight, you can watch on Thursday, as they said at the end of the show.

I would like to see that full fight. It ws not pretty, but it would still be interesting to see how it unfolded in the normal way.

I hate the sound effects they add.
Still have those "Fight Night Round 3" thunderclaps?

I agree.
Fellas...you gotta stop complaining. They have made a lot of solid changes. And if you want to see the fights without edits or sound effects, you can on Thursday.

It adds drama, and it's helping to get boxing out to a bigger audience, I'll take it any way I can get it... atleast the option is there to see the full fights later.
The only thing that sucks is how everyone on the show is talking how Max won the first round, but the footage they showed was mainly of Soliman landing and Max not landing at all. Poor editting more than anything though, and sucks them not replaying the KD or the headbutt.
Soliman did what I thought he would, he outworked and out.. umm.. awkwarded the younger kid... but I gotta say that I think Sam is on the borderline of being shot-ish, and he's leaving himself way more open than he used to, and his reflexes are going slightly away... I see him getting brutally KO'd the next time he takes on a top 5 guy... but he can still win this show.
If they don't edit it each episode will be like 1 hour 20 minutes, don't think 1 program will be allowed all that time unless it's a movie being aired.

Lol basically... like when you land a haymaker. Then they add the sound effects of the fighters groaning and shit when they throw punches it makes me feel like I'm watching a rocky movie instead of an actual fight.
Besides you can just go on boxrec and see who won every fight before they even air. :yep
No you can't. During the fight I looked up Alexander to see if it was the same one I've seen fight before and it didn't have the result of the fight.

Not really, 5rds x 3 mins + 4 breaks.. that's 19 mins, add in decision plus pre-fight and you're only at 22mins, that's with commercial breaks because of the in-between round time.
30min pre-fight, 30min for the fight. Perfect, just wish they'd use it.

Which is what they are using on Thursday!! Damn man. if they made this FNF, then no one other than those on this board would watch. They have this version, which a lot of people seem to respond to, and now a version just like what you described on Thursday!

I agree with the time involved they could show the whole bout and as for the boxrec thing nothing shows. Only contender season II had the results on boxrec the same night of the taping.

They need to change the format for the episodes. They should drop the challenges and focus more on the boxing matches.

Any how I think the contender is GOOD for boxing. I just watch again on thursday.

It's the drama/talk before fights that attracts the most in my opinion, the first Contender actually attracted SO many fans it was crazy all because of that. It also attracted a lot of female fans to the show despite not knowing much about Boxing.

Well at least this year they are offering the unedited format:good
For true boxing fans, there really is no other:nono
I still cant believe they allowed the shown fights to be behind the actual events:-(
Overall, I'm digging this year more than the previous ones:happy
All we can hopr for? Is that they continue to hear the advice. Obviously they have and this years changes are a result.:D
I've gone from cynical too hopeful regarding the Contender and its place in the sport:yep
Way to go SRL & Co., perhaps the next version will hit the nail on the head and solidfy the "Contender" as a perpetually viable and pertinent format for fighters and fans:deal
Hallelujah.........:amen

I'm not suggesting that they drop all the prefight drama, just don't show the elimination bout in the last 10 minutes is all.

That I agree with.

I don't know, I keep going back and forth on the issue, I guess in the end, the edited fights add drama, make crap fights look decent, give more time for the pre-fight stuff, etc.
The one thing that sucked was last week, you knew something was up when they waited til 10mins before the show is over to show the fight, you knew it was going to be a KO. The fights should always happen at just over the halfway mark, thus not giving away the result.
One thing I can say is this: My wife is a very casual boxing fan, she'll watch fights with me on occasion, and likes a good KO and slugfest, but she's not a big fan... but she's a big fan of the Contender.
It's a gateway drug for non-boxing fans.

Really, this is the best of both worlds and a win/win for everyone: the edited fights for the casual fan, and the full fights on Thursday night when the majority of us mofo's aren't doing anything anyways.
