Morning all
Just a quick one, I'm looking to start adding to my memoribilia collection but need a little inspiration.
I've got fight posters, tickets, programmes, boxer trading cards, magazines and DVDs. But I'm looking for other bits and bobs. Dont want to start shelling out loads of money on items so signed Ali gloves are out of the question, but anyone else got any thoughts on what I can start adding and where to go to get them?
Nice one

Anything at all really, that's sort of where I'm struggling.
I've got the usual stuff (as listed in the original post) so anything over and above that.
It's a lazy post I know, but if someone comes up with a piece of inspiration then it'll make it worth it.

A fair few Boxing news (oldest one dates back to late 60's and features my Dad's uncle, Pat Dwyer against Len Gibbs (I think - been a while since i looked at that)).
The odd Ring magazine thrown in and then other random magazines.
I'd quite like to get an entire collection of boxing news, but not sure I've got the storage space!!!

How about badges? theres always some nice old pin badges of fighters on Ebay and most major american title fights had commerative badges comissioned
Doubt they are hugely expensive

Good thinking. Not something I would ordinarily buy, but if there are a few knocking about then I suppose I could make a nice little box to put them in.
:yikes
Just re-read my last line, what have I become?

I collect memorabilia as well. Couple of ideas:
1. Fight themed Vegas gambling chips that are issued by casinos around the big fights; or
2. Ali collectables e.g Ali popcorn, Ali shoeshine etc. There are loads of stuff with his name on cause he was so was exploited (and stupid) back in the 70s & 80s.
Both available on memorabilia sites and ebay of course

I've been a long time buyer of Boxing News but, in January 2004, decided to keep them rather than bin or recyle. Trust me, the amount of space taken up for just under 6 years worth means that no-one could ever store the entire collection! :D

Much to the annoyance of my girlfriend, I have also kept every issue of The Ring and Boxing Monthly from that period, recorded onto VHS almost every fight shown on TV since Jan 2004 AND have bought hundreds of DVDs of fights that weren't even on our screens.

Dont know any official routes mate, but it may be worth asking a retailer like WH Smith or something if they can get hold of any. I'm sure if there's a bit of profit in it for them then they may help you out.
Alternatively, ebay etc. Or check if new copies of Ring have people advertising old copies at the back? If you're looking for a particular issue then ask around these forums and someone may have the one you're after and be willing to swap it for something.
I have a few Ring issues (not many, about a dozen or so from the last 20 years) which I'd happily swap for old Boxing News editions.

Haha, me and the missus are looking at moving quite soon. Done a few viewings and stuff, one house had two utility rooms (tiny one downstairs and a big one upstairs but too small to be a bedroom).
"I could make the downstairs one like an office babe and the upstairs one, I could put my playstation and that in and hang up all my boxing stuff"
"No you couldnt"
That resolved that issue.

Morning all
Just a quick one, I'm looking to start adding to my memoribilia collection but need a little inspiration.
Nice one
