I don't think that he's on the decline, the reason to why his speed is not similar to what it used to is because of the rise in weight, his power was dangerous enough to stun the likes of Castillo and drop Corrales, maybe the rise in weight didn't improve his power either. He's in his prime in my opinion, the Baldomir fight proved that his speed is still dangerous enough to trouble anyone, looked quite similar to the fight against Gatti there as well with his speed. A 100% focused old Oscar can give anyone hell, the experience/power/size difference did make the fight damn close, not to forget that it was Floyd's first fight at the weight and against a legendary fighter. You can't expect to look absolutely perfect and always winning one-sidedly when you fight top fighters.

Because James Toney insults every single boxer out there, when Floyd talks trash he talks trash about possible opponents or fighters he's scheduled to fight. It's true that Hoya is the one who sold the fight but if Hoya was responsible of 85% percent of it, then Floyd also had the 15% whether you'll disagree or not but Floyd did play a role and if it was Mayorga it would've been 900k. Roy didn't talk as much trash but he was very popular already, his attitude and fight style was the reason, not to forget the robbery at the olympics that was an early boost as well. Floyd is nothing compared to Ali when it comes to that, I do agree but there are many that I know who stay up to watch Mayweather fight simply to see him lose and only for that, there are many on this forum who admitted to this too, Floyd is no genius when it comes to it but he isn't doing horrible either.

I dont know about that man. Im always hesitate to call people names based off their public image. To me he seems like a person who feels compelled to act like that to please a certain segment that enjoys that image. Floyd might be a good guy.
