He beat Gonzaga and Vera but then gets released while his victims go into other big fights?
Me no understand.
On a side note: Can't wait to see JDS v Gonzaga at UFC 108. I hope they still add Nate v Henderson. That would make the card unbelievable.

UFC wanted to pay him less after he got knocked out by JDS, Werdum didn't accept and moved on.

He signed a new multi-fight deal prior to the Dos Santos fight which, after losing, was cancelled and the UFC made him a reduced offer, which he rejected.
I think him being a legitimate threat to some of the more marketable fighters in the division (Brock, Randy etc) without being marketable himself probably counted against him. As did showing up fat and out of shape for the Dos Santos fight and getting KTFO'd.
