I think Mccall vs Wlad could really turn into a nightmare fight for Wlad. Everybody seems to think Mccall has one of the best chins in the game right now, can this be the factor that can give Mccall an upset win? I feel Mccall does have what it takes to defeat Wlad, above average pop and the ability to stay in the fight for the whole 12 rounds with Wlad. Can his determination be enough to beat Wlad or is Wlad just to skilled and too powerful for Mccall, can this be another upset championship win for the Atomic Bull?

Wladimir Klitschko would outbox Oliver McCall and would control the distance, pace with his jab. It's possible Oliver could upset him, but the chances of that are extremely low.

9 time out of 10 Wlad jabs his way to an easy victory. Id go as far to say he could almost force a late stoppage, from swelling or accumulation of punishment something like that.
But there is always that chance that McCall could reproduce his effort against LL. He has a frekish chin, all those years of crack use must of made all the nerves in his jaw dead or something.

McCall is pretty old, even with his iron head, it's a tough fight. As long as Wlad stays cautious, he should win.
If Wlad makes a mistake, the Atomic Bull can take him out.

I wanted this like 4 years ago. Woulda took McCall then. Maybe even 3 years ago. But now, McCall would likely get outboxed by a play-it-safe Wlad.

Wlad vs. Mccall could be a tough fight for Wlad if he were to stay on the inside , but if stayed on the outside he could jab his way to a UD , still a fight Wlad would want no part of or what to take a chance of having a repeat or Lewis -Mccall 1, cause Mccall has got a lot left from what i've seen in his last fight. I agree, I just wonder if Wlad would get brave and go toe to toe with Mccall wanting to be the first man to take the Atomic Bull of his feet.

No....he listens to Manny very well and Manny would advise him to use mainly the jab, set up the right after 2 or 3 rounds off of the jab, and tie McCall up when he gets in close. I really don't think Wladimir would go toe to toe with him. If the knockout comes, great, but he's content with an impressive decision victory. He wont risk another Brewster or Sanders type defeat.

Yeah thats possible, I just see Mccall taking chances in this fight were Wlad might have prove he has a better chin than most people give him credit for. I just think Mccall's a pretty tough fighter in the sense that he would be willing to eat some leather to land some of his shots, not many of Wlads opponents were able to do that unless they wanted knocked out.
Wladimir by KO, how old is McCall again?
No one should be serious about McCall taking such heavy punches at this stage of his career. It's like saying Mercer won't get KO'd because of his iron chin in the past the night he met Wladimir.

As to box03's comments, why should Wlad fight a dumb fight? Just so you can see him lose? Did Ali or SRL - top atg boxers - go out of their way to trade with an (lessor) opponent with a big punch just to give them a better chance? I love slugfests like the next fan, but still fondly remember SRL's masterpiece in his first fight with Hearns, a TKO14 win. Why didn't Ray trade with Tommy early box03? To prove to guys like you how tough & stupid he was? :-(

I havent seen McCall fight in several years, so I dont know if his chin has gone. Lord knows everything else is, im sure. But I can say confidently that some time ago, this would be the WORST possible matchup for Wlad.

A great chin will only take you so far... and last so long... Wlad wins by knockout.

Yes, this would be a poor fight for Wlad.
I think Mccall has that iron chin, is tough and all, is still rather good, but he is just too old to compete with Wlad.
Wlad would pound him merciless with strong jabs and some rights, but stay on the outside, just like he did with Brewster. Then the ref would stop the fight before the tenth to avoid Mccall's head being cracked open.
