Anyone know much about him, god rest his soul.

I have found his old gym now called the Phil Martin Centre, it is 10-15 minute walk from me, will be going to train there hopefully.

It used to be called Champs Camp. Had a few good fighters come through it, Ensley Bingham for one.

Legend. Most people put Billy Grahams success down to Phil Martin. Some tremendous domestic fighters from that gym at a time when boxing was flourishing

Great trainer who brought much-needed stability to tons of wayward Moss Side kids. As a boxer himself, he was robbed against Tim Wood for the British light-heavyweight title.

he had some great boxers at his place, i remember seeing them,

think he had 4 british champs all at the same time,

not sure, but think it was Paul Burke, Maurice Core, Ensley Bingham, and Carl Thompson

was a good boxer himself

yeah thats right dude, well done,

was frank grant and not ensley bingham with the others, Paul burke , maurice core and carl thompson who were all british champs at the same time.

was a great time for his gym then, shame Phil Martin died so young, would have had world champs by now.
