I was always curious about this one.
Sakuraba? He's heavier and pretty strong, master. Only way I think Hughes beats Sakuraba is via stuffing his head in the cage at the ufc.
In Pride, I think Sakuraba would clown him. Some things to consider, Sakuraba was a showman. Might give Hughes opportunities for some takedowns and gnp.. I really think Sakuraba has quite a few edges on Hughes considering he was extremely talented and flexible. Almost like a large BJ Penn but with more endurance.

Hughes.
But its a tough call with Saku's craftyness. Basically Hughes should win, but Sak made a career out of beating guys who should win.

Saku was pretty much a welter in the UFC..Hes small,,hes
190 lbs at 6' tall is 20 lbs bigger than Hughes weigh in at least. 3 inches taller as well.. Strikes me as a guy who can catch anybody in a sub, but fights dangerously on his feet when against strikers for the sake of entertainment. Thing is, the guy is probably a better striker than Hughes!
In a cage, I think Hughes would just have experience over him, probably a little to good to be subbed. Toss up fight if you ask me.

Sakuraba is the MASTER of not getting taken down...
If Hughes beat him it would have to be in the standup I think.

I cant believe guys actually think Hughes has the beating of a legend like Sakuraba..
I think Sakuraba would Clown Hughes in a ring, but a tossup in a cage.
