So sad I had no money to go to this....Booth vs Hunter, Groves, T Dickinson, Price and Jeffries all on the bill = good card.

Booth should win, has looked very impressive in his fights at this weight so far.
Jeffries opponent has done rounds with some decent fighters. None as aggressive as Jeffries though.

Going out tonight so will miss the fights, but have a massive £3 on Booth by stoppage at 4/1. Lets hope the rumours of him being ill are exactly that...rumours.
I'd like to see Price jab more often. He's got the physical tools and the technique to do it, but he should throw it more. Completely dominate with it and soften guys up rather than just land the odd one.

Price started slowly but won first round. Needs to throw a few combinations to open the fella up.
Dave darts hasn't thrown the imaginary dart yet but it's only a matter of time
Watt is spot on. He's pushing the jab and not really putting force into it. If he did he'd stop this guy from doing anything.

These cold rumours about Booth are irritating.
Not too impressive from Price. Did a few nice things but lacked authority in the jab and couldn't stop his man walking him down. Basically didn't use his advantages very well. Ring rust probably contributed to his tentative display.

2 rounds in the bag for Booth.
Booth is too smooth.
Counterpunching well, outjabbing the bigger man, landing the clean punches, tieing it up on the inside and showing smartness.
Maybe Hunter's aggression is pleasing the judges and the home crowd but I don't think he's landed anything of note.

I think he's alright technically. Not great physically/
That's why I said I think he's the least talented of the Olympians but the one that can be moved along quickest, as I don't think he has much talent. What you see is mostly what you get, with a few refinements needed. I'm sure they'll milk him but I think he's ready to move along quickly.
He's a solid fighter but his success will come down to his toughness/stamina/heart. If he's got that he can do okay, he wouldn't be the first basic fighter that trades on limited attributes.

TFFP, you're a God among Gods. I think you've summed it up perfectly there. I'm certainly not enthused to watch his fights if they're going to look like this though.
I doubt Jeffries would have any problem with McEwan. They are quite different, McEwan tries to be cute and counterpunch whereas Jeffries is just basic, there is nothing ambitious in his approach.

I'm a fan of boxing, watching boxing and drinking good whisky.
Now fuck off.

So why aren't you out? And it's a Saturday night which is party night up here, unfortunately though I have a trial shift tomorrow night.
His Friday night must be infinitely worse than ours, given he's attention seeking from us.:yep

Groves looks smooth, very relaxed in the ring. Against more ambitious opponents he'll pick them apart.
Nice on the eye after that horrendous display from Jeffries.
It's a long time since I've seen a Brit as relaxed as Groves in the ring. Refreshing.

Take it jeffries won on points then? Nice to see all these lads getting airtime.

Yes.
You should check out his sparring with Fragomeni. That convinced me he's the real deal.
Groves needs to be moved on a bit quicker. He clearly has the talent and maturity, definitely Britain's best prospect.

Oh the irony. What exactly are you doing then? Some of us did that years ago and have someone waiting in bed for us right now.
On topic.
You can really see Booth & Hayes influence on Groves. He's got the same loose style then loads up.

Groves did really well in that round.
I'm with the previous posters though, move the kid on.

I hope they do move Groves quickly. I never see the point of a fighter having his record padded with cans when they're clearly better than that.
Is the footage on YouTube?
I'm fairly sure it was posted here from YouTube but I can't locate it. :huh
There is a lot of good footage of Groves sparring on YouTube, against Domenico Spada and a heavyweight too.

tough opponent but Groves looks excellent, not much defence but his punches were coming from everywhere... looking forward to seeing more of him

You misunderstand. As I'm not watching and everyone is saying Groves needs to be moved up I'm saying how would he fare against someone like Paul Smith? Assuming Groves is fighting at 168?
Beautiful performance from Booth, made the show in itself. 3 live fights was a bonus, Groves the most impressive by far.
Thanks lads.

Lol'd at Groves fighting, he just fought exactly like Haye.
I was hoping Trevor Crewe was fighting on this bill but I guess it's not to be. How was David Price btw, as awful as he seems?
Disappointing performance by Jaffa too, he needs to stop fighting in Sunderland for a while, he needs to get some patience, defense, and some clinching savvy, he just looked lost when the bloke was holding onto him. He would not like to fight a Light Heavyweight Ricky Hattonesque fighter.

@G.A.V. Price looked okay. He's yet to make that jab a weapon but, given his time out of the ring, he did a decent enough job. His conditioning was very good also.
Yup, it was a good FFN.

I have ARD so I can watch the Abraham/Taylor fight on TV.

Same here, last time I saw him he looked as though he had genuine one-punch KO power. I'll be intrigued to see if this trend continues or whether it was a one-off thing.

Groves looked like a class act. He was patient, boxed and moved well and once he picked up the scent he was clinical. I liked his efficiency too, he didnt waste many punches. Jeffries and Billy Joe Saunders could learn from Groves performance tonight, as they were a bit reckless and untidy with their recent efforts in trying (unsucessfully) to take out tough journey men. Cant wait to see Groves in action again, he is fighting in 3 weeks time, what bill is that and I wonder if it will be on Sky?
Sky's domestic coverage is excellent at the moment, not only was tonight's bill an excellent one, but we have quite a few more good Friday Nights to come.
Any ESPN US fights tonight... BTW ESPN doesn't seem to show any fights these days

Booth boxed well he is peaking. Maloney is not interested in him fighting Munroe but perhaps he will pit him in with Paul Hyland. How did Jeffries get on tonight I missed his fight! as for McEwan - How about McEwan V Barker?
