Fightnews has learned that two of the best Russian cruiserweight contenders Alexander Alekseev (18-1, 16 KOs), who is promoted by the Universum Box-Promotion, and German Titov’s Grigory Drozd (32-1, 24 KOs) will collide in an explosive all-action crossroader on November 28 in Oberhausen, Germany. The fight will be scheduled for twelve rounds. Drozd’s WBO Asia Pacific and the vacant WBO European 200lb belts are going to be put at stake. The collision was confirmed to Fightnews personally by Alekseev, who is ranked WBC/WBA/WBO #4. WBO #1, WBA #2, IBF #4 and WBC #6 Drozd also possesses PABA and WBC ABCO cruiserweight belts. Both fighters are regarded to be the elite of this weight class, which will set the fight for some fireworks.

Very good fight.

Think I'm gonna go with Drozd.Alekseev just looks lost in there recently.

Drozd vs Alexeev isnt the fight I for my part want to watch. I like both Drozd and Alexeev. I wish they fought different opponents instead of each other.
Drozd's style causes a lot of trouble to quite a few of his foes and rivals out there,but Alexeev will figure him out and win a by either tko or ko.
Bad matchmaking,too.
Drozd isnt that widely known outside the circle of us hardcore fans,and neither is Alexeev.
Alexeev is promoted by one of the most powerful fight promoters here on our globe.I cant understand why the hell Alexeev has to face a serious threat in the ring which doesnt generate a lot of interest worldwide.ON top of that all Alexeev wont collect a very telling paycheck for this fight,and neither will Drozd.
They should better fight one of those well known and overrated American and American based fighters out there!

This is a great matchup. I dont know how much Alexeev has improved since the Ramirez fight but i think Drozd should win this on points

This is an excellent fight, very dangerous for both men.

I think for a true "Russia's best" matchup, I would have preferred Brudov vs Alexeev. Brudov has a better chin and better stamina then Drozd, and those traits are essential for beating Alexeev.

However, Drozd is faster and more versatile than Brudov and should pose an interesting stylistic puzzle for Alexeev.

That said, both guys are taking a big risk as Odo has mentioned.

As you rightfully pointed out,axe,Brudov has a better chin and better stamina than Drozd whereas Drozd is the more versatile fighter.
Sadly, you seem to be right in saying that stamina and a good chin are essential traits for beating Alexeev.
I for one would bet my house on Drozd if the ever fought Brudov,but styles make fights and Brudov is probably a more dangerous opponent to Alexeev than Drozd.

Tough call!

I somehow think that Alexeev hits too precisely and telling for Drozd! Alexeev by either tko or ko in the first half of their fight!
Alexeev's style is totally wrong for Drozd!
