He was decked by Taylor, not a big puncher, Pascal isnt a huge puncher and had him in trouble, ive seen dirrell land 100s of punches on so called lesser opponents and not look phased and he rocked carl a few times.
He has an average chin but i guarantee that next round he gets knocked out

I thought Dirrel had been on a roll of stopping guys in his fights? He did not drop Froch.
Taylor caught him and he got back up.
Pascal has decent power and did not drop Froch.
Froch maynot have the greatest chin in the world but it is good enough to keep him competative.
Abraham can KO any fighter no matter how good the opponents chin is and Kessler has great power too so those two fights should be very interesting.

He has a very good chin - I would say 8/10.
He has a very leaky defense and gets caught a lot, yet he has only ever been floored once and never stopped.

Agreed!
On a side note im getting sick of all the Froch bashing on the forum from some people, he is one of our World Champions and we should get behind him.
1) Yes his defence is leaky but thats what makes his fights exciting to watch usually, nobody is saying he is the second coming of Pernell Whittaker are they?
2) He shows great heart and isnt scared to back down from a challenge. Surely we should appreciate that. I think Calzaghe would have out boxed him but at least Carl had the Balls to call him out. He also went to America when Taylor wouldnt come here to fight and he fought Pascal. He is a warrior!
I just think there are more candidates out there that a worthy of abuse if thats what people want to spend their time doing!

Well said!!!!!!!!!!!
Sick of the froch bashing. He's a world champion and had a slightly offf night in ina fight where the opponent looked more like usain bolt than a fighter

agreed, good post. Froch has a great attitude to the sportand is a solid fighter. Most people aren't bright enough to work out that a lot of what he says is tongue in cheek, and it's also highly unlikely he knew anything about what was going to go on with the cards the other night.

solid chin but suspectable to speed punches.

His chin has always been overrated simply because of the lack of quality opposition until recently.
He's only recently stepped up to genuine top class opposition and you've seen him wobbled a few times. Coincidence? I don't think so.

I never thought he had a granite chin. He probably gets about a 7/10 - solid, but not rock solid. AA, Kessler, Pavlik and maybe one or two others could put him away if they sat down properly.

If a fighter has a zero, people automatically think his chin is "granite", "iron", etc. People said it about Hamed and Calzaghe despite the knockdowns, people still say it about Mayweather now. Sorry, but if you have not been in wars where your chin has proven to be granite/iron, then it hasn't earned granite/iron status. James Toney has an iron chin, Carl Froch has a good chin, like Naz, Joe and Floyd.

IMO Froch was never rocked by ANY punches, stunned maybe, pushed off balance by some of them. Even in the 10th, this so called wonder punch which had Frochy doing the chicken dance, hardly had him in that much trouble. Froch has taken some great punches in his last few fights and (bar one) hasn't even shown himself to be in much trouble. Get a grip people.

Andre stunned him I counted 4 times in the fight and he was out on his feet in the 9th.

I agree, I personally think Carls health was in danger and the fight should have been stopped.

Yeah, how the ref never stopped the fight in the 9th I'll never know. Perhaps the corner should have stepped in to save Carl at that moment.
I must confess, I never actually noticed Froch "out on his feet". I assume my stream was buffering at the time.......

Your screen wasn't buffering, when the screen seemed to be paused when Dirrell was holding, it just seemed that way because he did it for the whole fight.

Froch could have fought another 12.And Dirrell should pack in and follow Calzaghe into Strictly.Yes Dirrell beat Froch to the punch, but he hardly threw any!Dirrell came not to fight and got the result he deserved.I wouldnt be writing off Froch for this tounament yet.He will be fresh after this and raring to go for Kessler and Abraham in what will be more his type of scrap.

When the stream was working, all I saw was Froch stumbling round the ring and swiping at thin air.
I missed most of the 11th round due to buffering, did Froch score a knockdown or two? He must have done to get those scores.
I originally had Dirrell winning by a round or two, but never factored in the buffering. With a good stream, I'm sure I would have given it to Froch.
Not as good as people think. He's basically been hurt in every fight at world class. That isn't the sign of a great chin. He's not exactly Andrade, the way people talk about him he should be of that ilk.

I certainly think Dirrell got his attention a couple of times, but he was hardly staggering around like a drunk.
I'd say the same about him as I would most fighters..... if he gets hit often enough, accurately enough, he will go.
Only sick fucks like Andrade can take punishment for 12 rounds and be standing!
