RagingB(_)ll was kind enough to share this rare footage of bantamweight king Panama Al Brown with me and he wanted me to share it with you guys too.

The first clip features Panama Al Brown training with ex featherweight champ Eugene Criqui and some snippets from Brown's fight with Young Perez.

The second clip features Panama Al Brown putting Akon to shame :yep As I said to RB when he showed me this clip: that is one smooth little fudge packer!

Enjoy it guys whilst you can because I will be taking it down in a week or two. Cheers and all cred to RB for this one :good

Young Perez is breaking the rules there just by going into a crouch! Talk about a height advantage...cool, thank you.

A couple of questions.

1) Did you actually say the words "this is one smooth little fudge packer!"? I hope so...

2) Why are you taking it down, if you don't mind my asking?

RB's wishes Mac. He kinda wanted to keep it an ESB secret, doesn't want it being watched by all and sundry.

Brown seems fast both with his hands and his feet. Along with his height (near 6 feet tall at bantamweight) and punching power that I've witnessed in other films I've seen of him, he must have been one tough opponent for anyone to handle. No one ever stopped him either so he must have had very good defense or a very dependable chin, or both.

Also includes some great close-ups of Eugene Criqui's recreated jaw. :good

Criqui was shot in the jaw by a sniper during the war ,had it reconstructed with a steel insert ,he must have been a tough man to resume boxing after that. Those sparring partners were taking a chance bending down playing leap frog with Brown , he was known as a predatory homosexual.Watching the clip its hard to beleive he was a bantam weight, he towers over Perez.

Yeah, height and a good chin in particular are such a hard combo to overcome. Even someone like Paul Williams, whose skills are relatively average, has managed to eek out a very good career from the same mix.

You can just tell by the glint in his eyes that he has that "I ain't scared of nothin'" personality.
