Marco Antonio Barrera - Excelled in combination punching, and his variety of attack was stupendous.
Alexis Arguello - Nobody threw straighter shots than this guy, and his uppercut to the body was killer. Ask Mancini.
Michael Carbajal - He had his flaws, but when on the attack he could triple up his shots very well. His right cross and left hook would often put fighters down for the count...and out.

Marvelous Hagler - switch hitter, with a battering ram for a right hand. Still till this day can't understand why guys refused to circle to their right against this guy.
Roberto Duran- ferocious inside fighter who had underrated boxing skills and footwork
Thomas Hearns- do I really need to describe this guys offense.
Jose Napoles- deadly accurate and his tactics of baiting in his opponents while setting up his own offense was brilliant (though it often almost cost him fights).

mike tyson- never has their been a fighter that threw with bad intentions like he did. he would create oppurtunitites by making his opponents miss and capitlalize on it by throwing bombs to the body followed by bombs to the head. a fighter that made brawling into a science
sonny liston- before there was tyson, there was liston! liston didn't exactly have style, he was just a guy that wanted to hurt you as much as possible. his freakishly long reach for a man his height (6'0, 80 inch reach) made him even more dangerous. he had a jab so strong that it would break through his opponents gaurds and would then follow through with a right that would damn near decapitate them. his punches landed on his opponents so hard that they damn moved their entire bodies.
gerald mcclellan- the g-mans knockout power is nothing short of devastating. just about every punch he threw at you could be the punch that'll put you to sleep. i personally think there as never been a MW that threw such powerful body punches so quickly. the solar plexus blow was just gut wrenching!!

Mike Tyson: terrific mix of speed and power, terrific leverage behind his punches, excellent combinations, with of course the right-hook-to-the-body-right-uppercut-to-the-head being his bread and butter.
Terry Norris: I love his combinations. Very fluid and crisp. He could get a little too offensive and hot-headed for his own good, but at his best he was fun to watch.
Others: Joe Louis, Alexis Arguello, Felix Trinidad. Beautiful punching technique from all of them, who could do damage from a variety of shots. James Toney is not what one typically thinks of when they say "offensive fighter", but he had just about all the punches in his arsenal. When he got his offense going, he was a joy to watch. The uppercuts against Iran Barkley, the double hooks against Evander Holyfield, the counter rights against Vassily Jirov, the assortment of blows thrown at Mike McCallum. Floyd Mayweather is often too defensive, but when he does assert himself offensively, I find it beautiful to watch and there's very few I enjoy watching more.

Robinson of course. Every punch in the book with whip-like torque, speed and accuracy to both body and head. No matter who you were, you were going to get hit against this bloke. A lot. And hard.

Good post RC, people talk a lot about head to head monsters on here, and for me Marciano is the ultimate example.
Anyway in response to Addie, Roberto Duran, doesn't really need explaining too much.
Jose Napoles for offense, i love watching him in this regard, and Olivares, the way he turns them knuckles at the optimal moment to generate power and destruction, and they're coming from all kinds of angles to head and body, fucking nightmare. Tyson's always a good shout.

Hearns, a long time favorite of mine. One of the best combination punchers i've seen, and an underrated body puncher. Though his jab and straight are often his most vaunted punches (and rightly so), I really like tommy's left hook. He had great leverage when throwing that punch. When I think of unrelenting offensive firepower, Hearns is the image that pops to my mind.
Duran. Just a great offensive fighter to watch, be it fighting mid range or close quarters. You can admire the guy's technique and skill just watching him feint. Slight nudge of the right hand, then a left hook to the body. I've watched a lot of the guys stuff and his jab, straight, left hook and right uppercut are the punches that really impress. Watching him hook with someone like chavez would have been awesome to watch. Not to mention a slippery defensive fighter, very difficult to hit clean.

Wel, whitaker would be one of my favourite one-two punchers and jabbers. It doesn't have to be massively destructive powerpunchers here.

Alexis Arguello - Threw every shot absouloutly perfect. Short, sharp combos. Buaety to watch.
Ruben Olivares - Just that double left hook to the body is amazing but very well rounded offence and it is brillaint especially his feet.
Jose Napoles - That smoothness in attack with those brutal hooks and uppercuts, just brilliant.
Jung-Koo Chang - Just amazin threw everything!
Fighting Harada - Amazing offence with fast hooks and uppercuts behind a very culuterd jab and excellant angle finding.
Pascual Perez - Fast, awkward and hard punches in combos. Excellant changes in angles.
Roberto Duran - His amazing combination of offence and defence as he came forward. Just amazing.
Another is this kid i saw the other night at the amatuers his offence was brillaint just like Don Curry and the kid is like 14 it was amazing

He's more in the lines of a great defensive fighter & counterpuncher. Not very offensive per say.

Roberto Duran:
Feinting, growling, bobbing his way in like a maniac, then unloading vicious combinations. Brilliant.
Manny Pacquiao:
From the old style frantic attacking that rolled over Barrera and Morales, to the new pirouette round the centre of the ring unleashing laser-accurate shots style that crumpled Diaz and Hatton, and that Oscar couldn't touch. This guy is offence.
Others: Arguello, Chavez, Jones Jr, Pryor, Olivares

Close to the top five, but sadly he doesn't seem to have cracked that elusive top five elite level. Shame. :-(

I just had a look at the thread. For me, having Benitez above Sanchez cannot be justified in any way. Sanchez is clearly greater in p4p terms.
ie: Sanchez is closer to elite level than Benitez. :D

Julio Cesar Chavez and Joe Louis for me.
Louis had the better jab. Chavez was more effective cutting off the ring.
Louis had better one punch power. Chavez attacked he body better.
I don't want to choose which is better. I'd rather just enjoy their footage equally.
