Not sure Ash but Col had to defend against Whitehead or lose the belt. Apparently Whithead was given the green light to fight Hoppa for the belt next fight after Col's. But as we all know that plan came unstuck.

...might be part of the contractual agreement that Col had to fulfill upon becoming the new H/W champ.
All duties that Hoppa was contractually obligated too, Wilson has to agree by and serve out.
......this must include a Whitehead agreement also. Houmono must have been in line for a H/W title shot, assuming he'd beaten Whitehead...
Blah... blah blah... blah blah blah... blah.. blah ba ba black sheep... Im delirious..

The love no doubt is a rubber 12 inch item bought through mail order currently residing deep within the confines of Mr Austin.
And if he disagrees I'll quote verbatim the text he sent me a few days ago about an Australian boxing identity.

Bitter...
Are you saying I am upset Col is fighting Whitehead?
Or bitter for some other reason?
if you explain I will put you at ease...Cause for mine I couldn't care less where, when, how or why they fight. just made the observation as a promoter who understands the needs of people sitting in seats and why most people attend is cause they are following the local boy...
Col is a mate and i wish him well.

Flame.......you watched Whitehead in his last hitout with Humano....how do you rate his chances against Big Col.
I'm hoping he does well, Bendigo lad who I've seen fight at Aussie titles.
Whitehead has a bit of amature in his recent past but bugger all pro rounds under his belt. Amature looks great on paper but was stretched out over almost a decade. Not real busy.
I reckon he might be a bit underdone for this fight.....not enough experience and likely to get a pro boxing lesson from Col with way to much cunning and a game plan well sorted from treading canvass over many years.
Thoughts?

The only mistake you have made here mate, is that you believe Flamengo actually knows what he's talking about. Does he fucking bollocks!

Fighting a south paw.... might be a struggle for Whitehead. He copped some huge bombs from Sol, was in a mess a few times. His definately resilient, game, tough and relient on that. His left jab being his only real weapon used against Sol.. and a few body shots.
If Col trains for two weeks, as he did for Hoppa, Whitehead will be in for a long night. I doubt he has the kit of punches to beat Wilson. Jabbing to a 6' 4" Wilson.. He'll be open worse than Hoppa.

The HW div here needs a shake up. Hoppa hit the ground running and gave it a solid crack, do you think Whitehead can match it up early against the top 5 here.
After Col if he is to make any kinda impact, he needs to do it fast and if he has any ambition these fights will happen qiuckly and not drag out like many other flagging careers.
This I reckon is a decent gamble for Whitehead to take, not many have seen or heard of him in boxing before.
He might sneak under a few (old) gaurds in Aussie HW.

Honestly, for those who witnessed Whitehead/Houmono and Houmono/Kirby all suggest a huge turn around in Sol on the two nights. I didn't see Sol/Kirby, but the turn around is said to be a spark in Sols backside. Fitter, miore active, forcing the fight.. etc. I think Old Mister Clown Shoes watched the two fights..???
My opinion of Whiteheads prospects. Entertaining. Short lived, but entertaining. I hope I'm wrong. I can see Wilson stopping him early.

Sol looked his best ever against Kirby....but it was also that everybody thought Kirby would be so hard for Sol......credit to Kirby hes tough but Sol was 9/10 that night.
