Heard Oye speaking on DSS' radio show a handfull of weeks ago - a real good mix of quiet ambition and good bloke. Took a risk last fight and reaped the reward. Hope he continues on his winnning way.

Indeed it should!

I squirreled up some video of Park. Looks to be raw camcorder footage of his UD win over Somchai Nakbalee. The Thai fighter also lasted the distance against Omotoso (in fact, three months earlier) - for both men Nakbalee is one of only two wins not to come by stoppage.
pJTMn3g3Z0c

The editing is pretty spastic, and it's hard to tell what's going on at many points. It appears Nakbalee took at least one knee (which may or may not have been ruled a KD) and on at least one other occasion was given a standing count by the referee.

It's weird, Wale and Park both appear to be decent punchers, but earlier in that same year before surviving to the final bell against both, Nakbalee was starched in 2 rounds by lightweight journeyman Ranee Ganoy. :think

Nakbalee actually beat Ganoy early in his career.

funny story...for the return fight (youtube above), both Nakbalee and Ganoy had to lose a few pounds to make weight. Because their wasn't a sauna available, they both shared the same car and turned the heater on. Very intimate and cosy :)

Ranee Ganoy might be a bit of a Lightweight fringe contender...but he is a huge banger & him KO'ing anyone is not really much of a surprise.
I have been high Oyewale Omotoso for some time & i think all he needs now is to get a better trainer to refine his skills further & he could then really go some places fast.

Murray Thomson...ok for a domestic level fighter...but if he wants to go places Omotoso will need to work with the likes of a Craig Christian..Billy Hussein or maybe 1 of the Grange guys.
Some may disagree but Thomson's knowledge is not comparable to Christian...Hussein etc.
Also the sparring these places will offer Omotoso would develop the fighter at a much faster rate..u wont see Thomson's stable sending fears through anyone.

Kegsy.. You really speak more shit than myself sometimes!!!

If you think the Murray Thompson stable is not on par with others nationally, you are sadly mistaken.

Murray is coming into his 53 promotion in Nov. Unlike others, he keeps things happening without contraversy or being fucked over by the so called BIG WIGS of the game. The bloke has a tonne of crediblity. Why attempt to deflate him?? Is it because nothing negative can be said about him?? Or simply due to your knowlege of him being minimal?

Dont expect Oyewale to go into another stable... And dont expect him to be rushed into sudden loses for the sake of bullshit match making.

Dont under estimate Murray.

Ouch Leon told me already not to say anything negative about Murray with you knowing him quite well & being on this forum.:yep

I know all about Murray's promotional history of 50 odd promotions.
I must say they have all pretty much come & went without much controversy & media...well done to him for that.
His last Fox card in July 08 (maybe his last forever) was the worst i have ever seen televised by Fox unfortunately.:-(
He has put on many of the biggest & best matchups in those 53 promotions including errr....Omotoso vs Augustus, Ganoy vs Onikeke, the Australian title double header back in Nov 2000........................................ummm im running out.
I have also been told plenty about his training methods from 3 former boxers that trained at the Fighters Factory, so lets just say im not underestimating.
I hope Murray can bring the best out of Omotoso, but unfortunately i dont see it happening. Would love to be proven wrong tho as Murray has never led a fighter to any sort of professional international glory but i guess there is always a time to start.:deal

Omotoso is imho the hottest prospect in oz and the most likely to next win a genuine world title. His speed, power, footwork, stamina and defence were poetry against Augustus. From what I saw at the Augustus fight Murray seems to be doing a great job bringing him along and should get credit.

Hmmmm... No dramas. I was just looking beyond the mono-celled interlect of Spagsy.. Hoping for a good nights sledging to-and-fro.

Australia has many fine trainers and promotors. Hence the likes of a great crop making noise in the higher brackets overseas.

This is no reflection on, or reason to dismiss the way MT is handling Omotoso. When noise is ready to be made, it's going to be loud... Oyewale and Murray will beat the drum as they wish.

For starters, dickhead... Thompson is doing more than fine. In time, Oyewale will knock the Alphabet out of your reason for this post. Dont kiss butt you idiot!!

Brendan Smith, Elias Nasser, Angelo Hyder and Co. involved with the likes of Vic, Kats and Green can't be travelling too badly.

Khoder runs his own race.. makes a squillion, disappoints all except for self and pocket...

Small promotions are popping up like welts on your tiny cock, all over the place. Bendigo- Ballarat, Griffiths- Gisbourne, Malvern- Fremantle....

Armatruda/Michael have been regular promoters in Melbourne, having been more than FINE with events, putting on 6 Promo's at the Docklands.

RedCorner, along with ACE, place thenselves regularly on this site with promo's.. And very frequently.

There's anothers story to be squashed.. Clarify this...

What is 'FINE', by your standards??? If a World Class fighter is said to be given 'GATE RECIEPTS ONLY' as pay, under the contractual agreement of a bearded Khoder, with his own team agreeing to the stupidity... does that sound 'FINE'..?? Khoder takes all PPV.. Geale takes minimal gate.

I'd like to know how factual this might be.

The numbers of promotions nationally are high.. very high. Too often the Philo's, Thai's, Argie's and Indo's turn up for a cheap belting, make some entertaining viewing for P.J's, and leave the game in tatters.

You just gave me a list of every promoter in Australia. So you accredit a good promoter with the amount of shows he puts on. Most people look at the match ups/quality of cards. I see you don't mention that. Whatever floats your boat. Personally, I couldn't give two fucks how many shows a promoter puts on and where he does it if they are mostly rubbish cards.

Funny too that you pan filo's and asian fighters as turning up for cheap beltings. Yet they are in hot demand from just about every promtoter here. If it's a blight, blame the promoter? he matches them dick wad. Due to the way "most" promoters want their cards matched nowadays, these filo's are saviours and have saved many shows.

Omotosa has had 14 fights. 12 against thai's indo's or filo's. You aren't making much sense here are you.

But you are cute when you are angry cup cake.

We shouldn't lose site of the fact that Oz fighters are pretty thin on the ground.
We do need to import opponents.
Even if the best fought the best, how many cards could you fill, & for how long?

A lot of those imports get some pretty raw decisions don't forget. They come to fight, & fight they do.
Just because they are imports doesn't make them pushovers.
While thai's & argies are a bit suss, the Pinoys aren't.
They are not all 40 year old knuckle draggers

I just realized Omotoso's next bout in Victoria on 11/27 is running up against another Aussie card in Queensland featuring Lee Sherrington vs. Shannan Taylor.

Are they going to be competing for TV coverage? Do you ever get two networks broadcasting different fights simultaneously? :huh

We're lucky to get one channel broadcasting live fights.

But there is a disclaimer, often on Friday nights on pay tv, Fox Sports will be showing a card (sometimes live) while at the same time on ESPN they are showing a FNF, often a few weeks old. Awesome that the whole week nothings on then bang, two at the same time.

PPVs are shown on MainEvent whos motto is 'Never communicate with our paying customers', we pay anywhere from $30 (Showtime) to $50 (HBO & Mundine cards).

Local fights are shown on Fox Sports, though late last year, One HD (A new Free to air digital channel) screened 4 (almost) live cards over 4 months on a Thursday night. Apparantly they are doing a show a month next year but we'll wait and see.

Also SKY channel, a 24/7 horse racing channel do 1 hour of boxing a week, with KOTV (news show) and Canvas Classics, which is olf fights from the vault. CC used to be an hour but has been cut to 1/2, hopefully back in its original format next year. They also pick up the PPVs Main Event don't get, but only screen them in pubs etc as they have no facilities to sell to the home market.

Clearly no one has done as much damage to Augutus, if he forgot about the other KO's.. :D

He did say quote "I have never been stopped by a single punch like that"

Read carefully now: (the only time Emanuel admits to having been stopped by a punch in 75 professional outings - many of them against some real killers).

He had three other "stoppage" losses on his record, but none were instances of being put down for the count.

Against Mayweather his corner intervened.

Here's the copy on his "KO loss" to Allan Vester - "Emanuel, behind on the score cards, dropped to the canvas and allowed the referee to count him out as the bell rang. He got up on the count of 10 as the referee waved the fight off, because the bell cannot save a fighter. The local hero did score with a light right but it was clearly not a knockdown. " - so you can interpret this one as being "thrown" or him simply giving up.

His only other stoppage loss (that's a total of four out of 31...and out of 75 bouts all told) was when he was 6-2-1, and was a TKO loss to Jesus Chavez. Given that it's listed as a TKO, and not a KO, and taking Emanuel's own statement above into account, we can deduce that this too was a corner or referee stoppage.

I'm sure I've got one of him getting counted out after a body shot.

Read carefully now: (the only time Emanuel admits to having been stopped by a punch in 75 professional outings - many of them against some real killers).

He had three other "stoppage" losses on his record, but none were instances of being put down for the count.

Wale's opponent this week seems to be, disappointingly, another lateral step. 2010 isn't shaping up to be nearly the year 2009 was for our boy.

Still think he's got the goods and the time though.

Can't understand why they are fighting for a 'youth' title in his next bout though - Wale is 25 & the Thai 27!

Youth??

The evidence has been removed by the looks of it...I sorta pieced it together from quotes, sounds like bullshit..IB rocks.

Was a top fight by the way, I had it for Mares..he was also a bit better overall but there was fuck all in it as the rounds go..far from a robbery, jeez some people are dramatic.

This is wierd.

What the fuck is going on with the mods.

Answers please mods.

Why have 2 of the most knowledgeable posters on the Aussie forum been banned.

I wouldn't need to ask but comments and whole threads have been removed.

I imagine there has been either racsist or derogatory remarks been made it couldn't be simply a verbal disagreement, these are what makes this website all the more interesting!

Explain!

Is Augustus addmiting he threw some fights?

Could have sworn he has lost by KO before!!:huh

I'm sure this was already responded to a year ago, but one of them he took a knee and stayed down for the count of 10 for no good reason (it was about as obvious of a dive as I've ever seen) and one of them he was TKOed by Jesus Chavez in Texas where he claims it was a BS stoppage. He was since KOed by Provodnikov though.

Wale is to fight Muhammad Abdullayev at Fort Knox on Nov. 26th.

After watching Abdullayev tear Phil Holiday a new arsehole on the Tszyu/Leija card, I thought Abdullayev could be anything. He certainly has faded, not to the point of being taken lightly though.

Wale will give him hell and walk away winner via KO 7.

Abdullaev has been replaced by a former KO victim of his - an Argie named Juan Alberto Godoy, who's been in with a several quality operators.

Here's a look at him getting pounded on by a very good fighter in Fedchenko:
6bbPvEwgOX0
_nBHKW_aYoU

This will be a good opportunity for Wale to measure up against other world-class talents, depending on how well he does and what method of victory he secures (assuming it is a victory) and how quickly.

I hope Omotoso faces better opposition in the new year, as his management have had him stagnate somewhat this year with 3 insignificant fights IMO.

Yeah - Abdullaev would have been the biggest test and Godoy's a bit of a step down.

LeonMcS

Omotoso won, from our fearless correspondent Bobby Sinn, "TKO in the fourth, think it was the fourth, was on my ninth bourbon".

When I asked for more details he replied "Can't talk, off to the docks to make some change greeting some sailors" whatever that means.

So anyways, Omotoso wins tko.

He needs better management and to step up his level of competition. I believe in order get these fights he needs to out to either the East Coast with the Grange Boys or over West with Harry's.

Hell of a talent

Wale caught Godoy in an exchange (ALA George Michael , Leon, Toilet Cubical).. A solid, flushing blow, and the towel was needed to clean up a potentially ugly mess. A very unsteady Godoy observed (via double vision) the referees full count.

Wale has lost some bulk of the shoulders and appeared to have increased speed.. Timing and precision lapsed against Godoy early, but Omotoso will knock the soul out of many better fighters in the future.

Full credit to Godoy's cornerman for taking care of his fighter when needed. Very smart stopage.

I managed to interview Godoy's trainer before the bout. It went as follows.

"Welcome to Australia"
"Que"??

"Alberto has seen some brilliant fighters over the years"
"Que"

"This bout could be his last international"??
"Que"??

"Thank you for your time"
"Que"??
