Sorry to have to report this but Jason Rushton collapsed after the conclusion of his 10 round bout with Blackpools Brian Rose. He was stopped at 2:59 of the final round of the bout after a perfectly timed intervention by Steve Gray.
Bizarrely with the stoppage and final bell happening almost at the same time, the usual physician jumping into the ring at stoppage seemed to not happen. I may be wrong but I don't recall Jason been checked over at the conclusion of his bout.
He seemed dejected at the bell having put in a typically spirited effort but I watched as his dad put his ring jacket on and his girlfriend consoled him and I didn't notice him been once overed.
He headed off to the changing room and moments later all the paramedics and the Doctor sprinted off to the changing room. Poor Frank Maloney and Steve Wood sounded very concerned about his condition and it was a bad sign that all 4 medics had to leave, leading to the Mcintyre contest been declared a no contest after 2 rounds....
I'm off to bed hope I wake up to the news i've over-reacted.

Yes, I echo those sentiments, hopefully the kid can make a full recovery, lets all pray he does.
I feel for Brian too, he's a great lad that I know personally, he'll be feeling really bad too that's for sure.
Fingers crossed.

Just looked at his record, seems like his career was going nowhere and it was obvious that he was being 'used' as a tune up or as a fighter that one should be beating.
Not nice and its very sad...
I really hope he is ok

Its called a journeyman
His last 3 defeats came via the likes of Hall, Cox and Jennings. Not exactly getting beat by bums was he ? Either way hope he pulls through

VERY sad news.
Sounds like he was already unlucky being stopped with only 1 second left, let alone this.
Lets hope his luck improves and he makes a full recovery.
Our prayers are with you Jason.

Hope everything is OK. :-(
I've been searching the sites for up-dates on his condition, and found nothing. So I suppose no news is good news in this case.
My prayers are with Jason

Ive just spoken to Brian earlier and he is gutted at what has happened. It takes the shine of what was a good performance from Brian by all accounts. I missed it as Im working overseas b ut it sounded a good spectacle.
He said he is going to visit Jason in hospital as soon as he is ok.
Thoughts with all concerned and Wish him all the best and a spedy recovery.

I was at the show in Bolton last night - terrible to hear such news (Thanks for the update Tony - although its a shame the news isn't better than it could be)
Rushton fought quite well, but the knockdown looked like quite a heavy one. My thoughts are wish him and his family at this time, hope everything is alright.
We realised there was somehting wrong when the McIntyre-Flourney fight was halted in the third or fourth - obviously the medical team had gone off with Rushton. After a bit of a confusing delay, the MC grabbed the mic and declared it a no contest. The all Scouse affair between Paul Edwards-Michael Robinson was presumably scrapped after this aswell.
Hope Jason's OK, fingers crossed for some better news in the coming hours/days

No mate, nothing as of yet.
I have searched this morning and they say that the family have asked that no press releases be made at the moment. Apparently they put him into a drug released coma to try and stabilise him and will decide what to do before the weekend is out.
Thoughts and Prayers go out to the man

An unwelcomed reminder of just how tough our sport can be and of just how much more than just pride and titles are on the line every time these lads step in the ring.
Thoughts and prayers are with Jason and family.
