Who've ya got? I've been watching a lot a Holmes over the last few weeks and I think his movement and jab would give LL fits.

great fantasy match up Gaz :good

I'd need more time to analyse it, but initial thoughts are, that Jab of Larry which he could hit you with from across the street finds LL to a decision. I think it's a jabathon but imo Larry gets there quicker and dictates the flow of the fight.

This is easy!

Holmes would out jab Lennox in the first fight and get a close points win.

In the inevitable re-match, Lewis would win...as he always did! :D

How can I be wrong?....

I'm sorry.

My previous post was obvious baiting.

True.

If I have to be serious, I truly believe that Lennox would win. Larry had a great jab, but I feel that Lennox's all round boxing skills would see him through a hard won win.

Holmes would outbox Lewis

The worrying thing for lewis is that Frank Bruno outjabbed him before Lennox caught him with a Haymaker & Frank went into robot mode(as usual)
Larry Holmes had a superior jab to Bruno, & a better chin...

However, I still think Prime 4 prime Lennox would have found a way to beat Holmes. For the life of me though, as hard as I try I cannot imagine how this fight would have panned out. My heart says Lennox Lewis would have overpowered Holmes, but my brain always says "Look at the trouble a prime Lewis had with Brunos jab, never mind Larrys"

To summarise, lewis in my eyes is the superior heavyweight. Holmes had the style to beat him though...

I think Holmes would outbox him too. I'm sure Lewis has the brain to make it competitive, but I see Holmes running out a clear winner. His jab would make the difference, against another guy that builds off his jab.

One of the toughest matches for Lewis, without doubt. Him and Tyson.

Holmes, while not being left on the scrap heap, is probably a very under rated HW by most. Great call on matching him up with Lewis by the way but I think its a clear UD for Holmes in the 116-112 range. Not a crushing win, not a lopsided win, just a clear cut, I'm better than the other guy kind of win.

A superb HW and in the ATG list I have him ahead of Lewis.

I'm too pissed to check boxrec but I think he lost 6 fights. All losses after the age of 35 (in a time where fighters didn't box on like they did now) and I think 4 of those were after the age of 40 after his 'comeback'

Fuck!

I'm clearly wrong.

I still think Lewis would win. He had better all round boxing skills, even though I personally think that Holmes is one of the most under rated HW'S of all time.
But with all of these things, we'll never know for sure, which makes the discussion interesting/irrelevant/fascinating.

But fun. :good

I believe Larry Holmes would win this one, I believe Larry has the movement, fluid boxing skills, all time great jab and the chin and recuperative powers to take Lewis's power if caught by a big shot.

I believe Larry wins a clear but competive fight by a scores of 116 - 112

Mate, to summarise...the fence that you're sitting on is splitting you in two.

"To summarise, lewis in my eyes is the superior heavyweight. Holmes had the style to beat him though.."

FFS. Make a decision on this totally meaningless discussion and let's move on. :patsch:D

Holmes played with Ray Mercer in 1990 as an old man, the same Mercer later robbed against Lewis. Mercer took away Lennox's jab.
Say no more.

Extremely close but...

I could never see Lewis loosing to a LHW

Lewis never ducked Pinklon Thomas and Greg Page- in fact Bowe ducked him

Lewis's wins were better
