Its not about him being injured. It's about him pushing to fight an obviously not 100% and long out of boxing Vitali, then getting injured 2 seperate times. At some point, you just have to say fight the guy or give up the belt and come back for it when you're healthy. He has for a variety of reasons, legit or not, postponed this fight long enough.

Why not pick Mcline for replacement for Maskaev, and declared the winner as interim Champ. They should strip the Champ who was injured & just put them as #1 contender when they are ready to fight.

I dont think Virchis steps in for the Oktober 6 date. His stupid promoter Kohl would not allow that. Peter will still fight Oktober 6 which is verry good but it will be hard to find a decent opponent. Now the cards are even more in Peters favour cause he will have a tune up Oktober 6 and will fight 3 months after that against Maskaev which means he will be in even better shape while Maskaev has not fight in over a year.
